I wouldn't put Melo in the HOF either, but Im sure they will.
Well it's not that hard to get into the basketball HOF, especially since it's not just professional careers that are considered.

With his national championship at Syracuse, his awesome international performances on top of being a 10 time all-star, he's pretty much guaranteed.

He's a predictive model based solely on NBA statistics HOF Probability

According to that model, he is a 98.2% chance of making it, and that's before including college and international.

Pau has a 93.4% chance.

Most people have already realized that Lebron has surpassed Kobe.

Killer Instinct = shooting 20% in playoff games

James is an exponentially better facilitator than Kobe and Jordan combined, so yeah I'd rather he pass the ball to teammates who are "on" that night instead of jacking up shots to the tune of 20% FG percentage under the guise of "wanting it more".

The only reason Jordan isn't lambasted for it, is because he got ALL of the calls and scored half or more of his points from the line in those games.

Hell no, rules have changed to help James and his flopping arse, plus Jordan won everything under stiffer competition.

They should, James is the better all around player.

Swap he and Kobe out during the last years of Kobe's career and the Lakers go way farther.

Nothing says weak competition like coming back from a 3-1 series and dominating the "beast team ever" for 3 straight games without home court advantage.

Most people on this board, everyone in the media, etc...

I don't think they were, but you couldn't turn a tv on or walk into a bar without hearing someone talking about how historically great they were.

Lol, bull fricking shite... Most everyone that compared last year's Warriors to other greats of the past said that the 72 win Bulls were decidedly better.

However, that conversation happened because they were a historically great team.

Jordan has a career playoff average of 8 per game from the line, so not even close to half of his 33 per game

ETA: and for the finals, the most he scored from the line one year was 9.5 per game in '98 out of his total of 33 per game

Lebron is half the man that those two greats were. They played in an era of real men. Lebron plays in a pussified world of Millennial participation trophy delusion.

86 Celtics were the best team ever Jordan's Bulls were better than last years Golden State team and no the media doesn't consider them the best team because they didn't win a title. That Bulls team benefitted from expansion while the Golden State team did from a watered down and weak league.

I was talking about all those games that people are attributing to "killer" instinct.

Fact, Jordan had bad playoff games where he was cold as ice from the field, but he got the calls, so he got the free throws.

Wait are you saying MJ's 1986 Bulls are better than the 2016 Warriors? I would agree that 72 win Bulls were better though, but it would be a close series.

I don't understand this logic.

Golden State has 3 top 15-20 players on their team and win 73 games, and people say they weren't as good as the Bulls.

In the same breath, they say Jordan's teams didn't have a ton of help and no great players outside of Pippen.

Which is it?

Interestingly he averaged 9.8 FTA 11.8 FTA per game with a 46.7% free throw rate in 6 playoff seasons before his first championship. Free throws accounted for 27.4% of his points.

He then averaged 7.5 FT and 9.1 FTA per game with a 36.1% free throw rate once he went on the championship run. Free throws accounted for 23.1% of his points.
