Even as a Hawks fan I wouldn't mind seeing the bandwagon shrink, but there are plenty more annoying groups of fans

Kane dropped from NHL 16 cover.

LINK

quote:

EA Sports will release NHL 16 on Sept. 15 and their original cover art featuring Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks holding the Stanley Cup will be changed due to the ongoing investigation involving Kane.

On Wednesday, EA Sports announced in a statement that Kane’s image would be removed from their promotional materials going forward: “In light of the ongoing investigation involving Patrick Kane, he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of EA SPORTS NHL 16. "He will not appear on the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover no participate in other EA SPORTS NHL 16 promotional activities."

I wish I could go in depth for how bad the hawks are for Chicago sports mainly Bulls and Bears.

For ex the Lakers could go 0-82 and would still be LA's teams or Cowboys 0-16 and are still Texas. That will always put them in talks for the highest profile free agents etc.

Every bears player I have talked to has said that there fans don't know football. The Bulls players have said they don't get the support and love from fans like other franchises.

Chicago is a huge fair weather town. How do you tell someone to come up north play in the cold and be second fiddle to a bunch of Canadians whose arse you can beat?

There are 3 group of Chicago Blackhawk fans in Chicago. Loyal hockey fans who have followed them when they were awful. People he just want to see Chicago sports win. And the worst group of all a bunch of annoying drunk arse tools who treat the hawks games as a sh..t fest and are 100 % fair weather.

Funny thing is most of the new Hockey parents and kids have no idea about hockey history what so ever which is a disgrace to the sport.

Are you implying that the Hawks are the biggest draw in town and it's bringing down the other Chicago teams? Because I can assure you that is not the case. In fact, I will go ever further and say that not a single US city has its nhl team at the forefront of its sports landscape. So that is a bs argument. Bears players probably said that the fans don't know football because they haven't actually seen football in years. Don't throw that shite on the Hawks.

Now the point about the bandwagon drinking frat that also plagues the Wrigley field bleachers is legit, and I won't mind seeing that contingent disappear

At least I remained honest as a Chicagoan, didn't give a shite about them when they sucked and still don't.

And how many Bears players have you talked to?

The knowledgable fans have been priced out at Soldier Field and the United Center. It's even worse when the teams are winning because then attending games becomes a status symbol for the upper middle class suburbanites.

Every city has bandwagon fans when a hometown team is good and a good portion of these people are tools.

Most Bears fans are always mouth-breathers though. Listen to local radio the day after a game...the realism of the SNL Superfans sketch is stunning.

I'm surprised there aren't more stories like this regarding hockey players. I have to imagine they don't have the easy access to premium poon like basketball, football and baseball players do.

The Blackhawks do. It's borderline disgusting.

No offense, but I've noticed you post some pretty dumb shite.

- Please list the bears players you've talked to, and please explain the line of questioning you used that lead to them saying that their fans don't know football. Not only do I think you've not talked to multiple players, I don't think that, even if you did, they said Bears fans don't know football

- I'm a diehard Packer fan, born and raised in Green Bay, but having lived in Chicago for 13 years I can tell you that Bears fans are loyal. It's part of the reason why the tickets are so damn expensive. When the Hawks have been good, they haven't had trouble selling out games

- The Cubs have always had a strong following. Both at home and on the road. Even when they suck, which is usually, the Cubs are in the top half of MLB in attendance. Cubs fans are anything but fair weather (as Eddie Vedder says...we're "foul weather fans")

- The Hawks have traditionally had great support, it was there for decades and was squashed for the better part of a decade thanks to Old Man Wirtz. They've lead the league in attendance for years

- The Bulls have traditionally had great support. They lead the NBA in attendance in 2015, lead the NBA in attendance in 2014, lead the NBA in attendance in 2013, lead the NBA in attendance in 2012, lead the NBA in attendance in 2011, and lead the NBA in attendance in 2010. So I probably don't need to say this, but I will...the Hawks being good hasn't affected the Bulls one bit

So, to sum up, you tend to say dumb shite that is lacking a) logic, and b) truth

Sure they were.

Can you actually go into detail about how the hawks being good is so bad for the Bulls and Bears (and maybe Cubs too, or not)? Given how popular and well attended those teams games are, I would enjoy reading whatever it is you put together on that.

So you live in downstate Illinois? I thought you said you lived in Wisconsin.

Not sure exactly why either. But as a group they seem to go hard at everything including women and partying.

The Bears practice in lake forest which is right by were I grew up. For ex I have met Tank Johnson and Urlacher at Chipolte. I went to elementary school with Richard Dents daughter. I saw Alex Brown go karting few months ago.

The Cubs aren't affected by other Chicago teams they have support of most of Lincoln park wrigelyville and most side of Chicago and northern suburbs.

There is a difference between going to games and understanding the game. Like a previous poster said they are social status symbols now.

I was talking with Tony snell and his sisters boyfriend. Both have said that you would never see people favor the Kings over the lakers no matter how bad they are.

It's also cold and snowy in Chicago in the winter, hence why ice hockey would be popular there more than say Southern California. Jeez.

The Blackhawk effect on youth hockey in Chicago has been a boon. There are more and more kids signing up to play hockey every year. The growth has been tremendous.

Oh, and Chicago is a sports town, they support all their teams.

Cubs have won 9 out of the last 10 and are sitting in Wild Card position. Playoffs? My God, what would it be like to have a Stanley Cup victory parade and a World Series victory parade in the same year.

You are so rambling with your points that it's almost impossible to respond to you. And then your follow up points are even more schizo.

But thank you, that's exactly what I was anticipating/hoping for.
