This is him not being able to stay out of trouble in Buffalo. If he lived in Chicago in the offseason he probably would be serving a life sentence by now

I'm surprised there aren't more stories like this regarding hockey players. I have to imagine they don't have the easy access to premium poon like basketball, football and baseball players do.

Not surprised. I'm from south buffalo and both the place itself and the people are factors as to why shite happens here. Look at Chad Kelly, and I bet if gronk were here he would have a DWI and convicted of battery by now.
There is so much cockiness and fighting here when you go out, it's unreal. 50 yr olds routinely get in fights at bars. Guidos on juice in wife beaters everywhere. Every dude looking to prove himself as a badass as a lot of times that's all they've got. The girls think they're all 10s, although they're mostly 5s. NYC taxes keep businesses out, people poor and any money generated from taxes is straight down the pipe to NYC. Things are behind 10 years there. With all this and nothing to do in the winter for 8 months, people drink their asses off more than anywhere else I've ever been. There's also a ridiculous amount of police, absurd amount. Hamburg is full of people who sit on high school wrestling, football, and lax accolades, and will scrap at the bars over the smallest thing. Its all why I gtfo of there for college and on.
Kane walked into a bar I was in a few years ago when I was visiting and said "who wants to suck the rookie of the year's dick?!" He was bounced within 5 min of getting there. He grew up a cocky mfer and it hasn't chamged.
Without knowing anything, it's equally possible he did it and thought he'd get away with it as a hometown star in buffalo or a clown makeup slut is looking to cash in knowing the police there will go all out in a high profile case.
