Was never really on their bandwagon bro. Did not even follow them when they were winning titles.

Lebron ultimately holds the cards, but Wade determines if he even thinks about staying in Miami.

Wade and Bosh have to restructure to allow some flexibility. If they want to be paid equal to Lebron, there won't be enough money left for another contributor and Lebron may very well walk.

Wade needs to realize he's never going to be 2004 (or even 2011) Wade again and come to terms with that.

He wasn't talking about Lebron. Lebron was the only man in the damn series for Miami.

then why should he take less money? if he realizes he's never going to be that good again then this is the last big payout he is going to get. it would make no sense to take less money

He was most def talking about Lebron and to a lesser extent Bosh. Take the homer glasses off. Riley would huge grin on his face if Wade opted out.

Doesn't make sense to me why he would call out Lebron. This year's Heat was a result of the FO twiddling their thumbs, shipping out MM, and signing two bums just to save a few bucks. FO needs to man up and commit to making the team better. If you aren't getting better you're getting worse.

Pat Riley mentions Kobe. in reference to Lebron. " After he lost. He stayed cool and let management work."

Was this before or after Kobe whined publicly about Shaq and then Bynum on multiple occasions?

Problem comparing Lebron (and many of today's players) to Bird/Magic/Jordan is that many of today's players or coddled and protected until and even once they get to the NBA.

Lebron played on a stacked high school team as was treated as a hero from the age of 16. He was surrounded by yes men his entire life.

On the flip side take Larry Bird for instance. He played on a tiny High School team, brought an undersized and small Indiana State team to the national title and then had to overcome a stacked showtime all-time great Lakers team when he got into the league.

Jordan came onto a horrible Bulls team that finished 27-55 the previous year and had to contend with the Bird led Celtics, Pistons, Dominique led Hawks, and a very solid Bucks team when he entered the league. But Jordan stuck with it and eventually helped develop a very good supporting cast in Chicago.

Today's player's are more willing to jump ship and "buy" a title as opposed to working for them and building a franchise.

that 'few bucks' was something like 15 million had they retained miller... that's just stupid to spend that kind of money (and it likely wouldn't have mattered... the spurs were just that good).

This is false. I think one other guy on his team went on to play D-1 basketball.

I actually think this is really telling by Riley. Everybody makes him out to be such a cool, calm and collected GM who gets what he wants. If thats the case, why does he feel the need to publicly state these things? This tells me he thinks Lebron is leaving. Kind of seems like a panic move by Riley in my opinion. If this were Dan Gilbert telling Lebron to man up, he would be getting crushed, but its Pat Riley and everyone thinks its brilliant. Simply put, say what you want about Gilbert, but he has put the Cavs in a better position to win moving forward with Lebron then Pat Riley did with the Heat moving forward. The Cavs are younger, more athletic, #1 draft pick, plust the Heats next two first rounders (which could both be top 10 if Lebron leaves the Heat), has upwards of 36 million in cap space to add key veterans. When it comes down to it, Lebron re-joining the Cavs makes better sense then joining the Heat.

If he truly cares about winning, he knows they need help and he has to take less so they can add a piece.

If all he cares about is money, then he should get his, but expect Lebron to bounce to a spot where winning is more important than getting yours.
