"fans" - is a quite a bit of stretch.

cavs attendance was abysmal before LBJ got there and now its abysmal again (19th, 20th) in the league the past few years

So ESPN caught a couple of juveniles who burned his jersey, there were and still are a lot of Cleveland fans who moved on and now wish to see him succeed. Im one of them. At first we were all burnt, he could have left a different way, some fans got caught up in the emotion of it all. Most reasonable would gladly take him back.

Know what else the Cavs have that other teams don't?

An owner who acted like a complete fool when Lebron left. A situation where it would look like Lebron is tucking his tail to return to play for a guy who absolutely threw him under the bus and shite on him a mere four years ago. Other teams definitely don't have THAT to 'offer'.

The fact that you guys can't appreciate how much of a cloud that throws over everything is what is comical. It's a complete non-starter for Lebron.

Most people were mad at HOW he left, not WHY he left. What's so hard to understand about that? Cleveland fans were right to feel angry about that. There was no need for him to go on national TV and do that....even Lebron James himself said he wishes he could go back and do it over.

You don't seem to grasp the point that Bron's "Decision" and Gilbert's "Letter" were dumb things to do. There's been numerous reports that both sides have apologized and moved on.

None of that matters right now. The owner and his shenanigans is what matters.

Know who would be signing his checks? The owner who shite on him. No way Lebron cows down and goes back to that.

Really hope some of you Cavs fans aren't getting your hopes too high on Lebron returning. He wants to win now. He's not waiting years for Embiid or whoever they draft to turn develop into all star players. Bron and Kyrie aren't enough to win a ring.

But how long is reasonable to hold that against him?

People still use that as a reason to bash the guy, even though like you point out he has admitted it was a mistake.

I get that Lebron regrets The Decision.

It still doesn't excuse Gilbert's letter. And more importantly, it doesn't change the fact that Lebron would be tucking his tail and allowing a guy who completely shite on him four years ago to sign his checks.

He has way too much leverage with the rest of the league to willingly go back to that situation.

It really is comical seeing you guys trying to talk yourselves into him returning.

I don't think he's going to return. I just don't think that's the reason he's not.

They may have moved on, but I've heard people like Windhorst and Dan Lebatard say that Lebron isn't playing for Gilbert bc of that letter.

the "decision" seems to be just an excuse for "fans" to use to rationalize their irrational bashing of LBJ.

hell, the guy raised millions for a local organization with that announcement.

youre right though, of course, he would have done things differently, like telling Gilbert beforehand, I do understand that. it wasnt the smartest thing LBJ has done, but to bash the guy for it seems a tad petty and misguided.

Yeah, because Cleveland's wonderful owner, accomplished general manager, tropical climate, 5.4 state income tax and ability to attract top notch free agents is a mirror image of Mickey Arison, Pat Riley, South Florida, the Miami Heat's track record of success and the lack of a state income tax.

Riley is the beneficiary of the players making a selfish, personal decision to all play for Miami. He had no real part in that happening.

It's embarrassing to be attacking those same players for making another decision to move on based on the same desire.

Easy come, easy go.

I never rule out any pro athlete going to any team, no matter past history.

In the end it is a business, if Lebron think she can make more money going to Cleveland and can make his image/likeness more valuable by going to Cleveland as opposed to elsewhere I can easily see him going to Cleveland.
