When I was at some speed/strength camp at Parkview in middle school, one of the assistant coaches helping out asked us where we were going to HS. When we said Catholic, he shook his head and said "You won't win state at Catholic." As if we should make our high school choice based on the likelihood of winning a fricking state championship (which is predicated mostly on the strength of the classification).

you got that right. As for the recruiting thing, define recruiting for me. If your talking attending middle school games, talking to a couple parents about the school's open house and inviting them to go, then almost every damn school in BR "recruits"; even fricking St. Michaels.
Hell I was a parkview lock (
) in 7th grade because I always went to their camps and their coaches convinced me and a couple other guys to apply for 8th grade. Being that i was from a catholic school, my dad made me go to the CHS open house. We were all this close until we went to the CHS open house and said frick parkview, their open house was terrible. Anyways, go bears. Take it to 'em on Friday

The recruiting part is going out of your way to find these kids around BR and inviting them to give your school a chance. Then when the parents say "we can't pay that tuition" and then that kids tuition is taken care of. That's recruiting!

Yeah obviously. It's why I went to catholic instead of the cult like open house that parkview showed. School was dark, no students there to show it off. Huge turn off. Glad I didn't go to that shitty school

No...though there may have been some sympathy calls towards the end on some particular 4th downs. whatever refs were pretty horrible all around last year, they missed a chs fumble in the fourth as well. Typical. Hopefully this year it won't need to come down to that either way
