One of the big issues at that level is quality of coaching/instruction. Coach Dad gets out there not knowing what he's doing. No big deal in baseball, it can be corrected at the next level. But teaching a kid to tackle wrong can get him paralyzed.

This is absurd. I played ILB starting at 7 y/o, and all I had to worry about every play was wether I was blitzing inside or outside to lay the wood. Best time to play evar.

I'm not a big fan/supporter of pee-wee football. If I had a kid, he would start playing organized football until he reaches Jr High/Middle School.

Always keep your head up, look at your target, and put your head/body on the correct side of the ball carrier. There isn't that much too it.

but a lot of folks don't know this..... my kid got this instruction and reps in the hundreds at home before he ever played a snap of "real" football

Professional coaches start at 11, why wait until high school to allow contact?

From 1950, Red Rover, Red Rover, let Zach come over. Lock arms.
Does anyone know if this is still legal? I loved the game. It was basically football for 6 year olds. And it was coed.

Teaching a kid to tackle at the age of 14 is very dangerous.

Nobody who has ever played football can think that this is a good idea. If you are ever going to let your kid play football...you have to let him play when he is young...so that he can learn to protect himself.
