HURRR DURRR, team accomplishment.

Is Trent Dilfer better than Dan Marino? You know, MORE RINGS!

Both are great quarterbacks and some of the best of all-time, but it's completely asinine to compare the two by bringing up team accomplishments. There should a better measurement for deciding. For crying out loud, this board claims that a team accomplishment means more than individual stats for said players.

Manning's name does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Brady's.

And better playoff qb rating, higher td to attempt % in the playoffs.

In the only SB that (Peyton) Manning ever won, he did not will his team to victory ... the two RBs did. One was Joseph Addai ... I don't remember the other one.
Neither did John Elway in Super Bowls 32 and 33.

Does that take away from his legacy? Do you now think less of him?

What? Manning has better playoff qb rating than Brady and has higher td/attempt % and lower int%. These are facts.

How bout some 4th quarter stats. Peyton puts up numbers when the game isn't in questions and makes his mistakes late. Tom makes mistakes early and is money in the fourth. Big damn difference. Even in his 2 super bowl loses, Brady led his team to late 4th quarter leads only to have freak plays by his opponent take it away. He could EASILY have 6 rings. Insane. Manning is not even close to Brady when shite really matters.

Because thats a TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENT.

I knew someone would bring this up.

Stats don't mean anything when it comes down the wire. IT is pretty obvious what happens to manning in big games vs Brady.

Brady, leads a talented team to a TD to take the lead. In come backs the QB is usually the head, the orchestrator, the captain, what ever you want to call it. If the QB chokes, even if you have the best offense known to man on the field, they won't win it all. Those 4 rings matter because how Brady won it, sure he had great teams around him, but if you put an average, or even a good QB in his place, they may not have 4 trophies in the last 15 years.

Manning, he has chocked many times. He has had some great support staff around him, but he still can't win. Only game he won was against a Bears team who probably shouldn't have been there.

Should we not forget Manning's drive against the saints? They could have tied that, and tried to win it in OT or in regulation. But pick 6, saints win. Brady's only two Super Bowl losses are because of what his defense couldn't do. Brady played a significant role in their 4 super bowl wins. While Manning practically gave away their final shot at winning it all a second time.

no individual accomplishments that put Brady ahead of Manning

Most playoff TDs.

And more career rushing yards, receiving yards, net punting yards. Brady == Team Player

Yeah if we are counting TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Manning is only the best statistical qb thats ever lived. He'll be fine.

3 > 1
Let's see you "team accomplishment" that.

I am assuming everyone thinks Bill Russell is unequivocally the best center of all-time. Clearly, a choker like Wilt could not even be considered as the best center.

Sure, you can consider it. But, unless I'm mistaken, isn't it a consensus that Russell was better than Wilt?

I can't imagine that the majority of "best ever" lists have Wilt higher but I'm willing to keep an open mind if that's incorrect.

Brady went against (arguably) the best defense and easily the best secondary of all time....330 yards....4 touchdowns...not too shabby. Oh yeah...4 time Super Bowl Champ.

HAIL TO THE VICTOR.

team awards. Manning is better in nearly every individual statistical category and has better individual accomplishments.

I don't recall Manning ever cheating either.

I personally think it's a wash and pretty fricking stupid for someone to argue who the better quarterback is, when you have to choose between Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, John Elway, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Dan Marino and so forth... Each was great, but don't look at a team accomplishment to decide who was the best. Weight other aspects.

Ha ha. Brady's first 3 superbowls his defenses were ranked #1, #1, & #2 in the entire nfl. Peyton has never once had anything close to the best defense. Brady also has the best coach in all of football.

I hate when people use this stupid argument. Super Bowls are important but they aren't the end all be all in the argument. Brady is also Top 5/Top 10 in almost every statistical category a QB is judged upon.

He also has 3 Super Bowl MVPs. How many does Dilfer have? I'll hang up and listen.

The New England Patriots are about to be punished for cheating again.
