I think if you are perpetually priming yourself for future success there will be a time when you catch up and are in a state of perpetual winning...that is if you do it right.

I get why it has value.

I just hate it. I'm throwing a tantrum about it. Let me do this.

I don't like that defensive metrics are included in it. I don't keep up with it as much as I use to, but I know they use to always state defensive metrics are very hard to accurately judge. Don't get me wrong, I value defense greatly. I don't have any better way to value the overall value of a player though, so I do agree with Barry that it is basically the best way to get a decent value of a player. I do like wOBA and wRC+ for offense though.

Anyway, I hope my gut is correct and it's not just my Nats hate, cuz it's telling me Eaton just went from underrated to overrated! Nah, he's been a damn good top of the order guy, just hope he starts falling off in a year or two. gnats

What's the point in trading valuable pieces away, for younger pieces, only to trade them when they become valuable? Are we going to perpetually plan for the future? What a CF.

The white sox, just like the Reds in their run from 2010-2013 were stars and scrubs. Unfortunately for the white sox...and Reds their scrubs were just too scrubby.

Not any reliever, the top 2 in the game.

That's where baseball is at right now. It's not just one closer anymore. We're already seeing teams with more than one dominant set up guy coming in 4/5 nights a week to shut it down. Sure, the starters may pitch 6 or so to eat up innings... but teams are basically playing playoff baseball in May.

The game has shifted to this IMO.

I don't mind losing Deleon, but I hate to give up Yadier Alvarez. The dude is a future #1.

yea me neither. that guy is talking like it will be JDL, alvarez, AND bellinger plus a fourth prospect

that just seems way too insane to do and goes against every precedent this FO has set so well see

Good God, no. 1000x no. Get a glove man for 2B. We don't need 42 home runs from our second baseman, and we don't need to mortgage our future to get one.

I think it's going to end up being one of those three, verdugo, calhoun, and a 4th

That's the only way I see us doing that. I don't see us trading two of JDL, Alvarez, and bellinger

I could live with that. Verdugo will be solid offensively and defensively, but I'm not sure he's an impact player in the bigs. Calhoun will hit, but I don't see him staying at 2B. He's already kind of fat.

To be fair he's the hardest throwing reliever ever. Thanks for the 'ship, Chap.

Seems Nats are in on Kenley.

Anyone need a middling 4/5 SP? I imagine Gio will be on the block given payroll considerations if that happens.
