With these kind of returns, they should be looking to move Quintana, Robertson, Abreu, and Frazier before they leave DC.

The White Sox went from near the bottom on my MLB TV watch list last year to near the top next year once Giolito and Moncada are up. It would be cool to have the White Sox and Cubs good at the same time

this was my fear after the eaton trade

The concern now for teams that want #WhiteSox's Quintana: The acquisition cost will be exorbitant, given what CWS pulled off last two days.

Adam Eaton is a stud. Dude has the 10th highest WAR of OF in the last 3 seasons and more than Bautista and Stanton.

Not to mention at center he'll be the best hitter(CF) in the NL if not the best CF overall in the NL.

Washington has house money with Sale, Scherzer, and Strasburg. Giolito is expendable. Eaton is good

as long as you buy his complete and total 360 when it comes to playing in the field

Even if he's average in center he is still a 4 win player. He is a scoring machine at the top of that lineup.

Eaton did not grade out well defensively in CF before at all. I'll take a healthy AJ Pollock all day over Eaton. He's good but Giolito is a very high price to pay

I think Washington is going all in to contend in the years where they still have Harper.

I don't hold it against any team trading away young pitching talent

also need to see if cutch can bounce back and how the younger CF like ozuna and pederson progress

but yes, adam eaton is a really underrated player on a nice contract with FIVE years of control. thats all very valuable. i just dont know if hes the 6 win player that he was this past year

While it may not show in prospect rankings, Giolito's stock has been taking a hit the past few months. From lack of command, bad mechanics, and most importantly drop in velocity, it's been going downhill slowly and it shows with this trade IMO. Lots of scouts feel Lopez will end up being a high leverage reliever and it's too soon for me to formulate an opinion on Dunning.

ive been thinking the same thing for about a year now. Giolito isnt who we thought he was.

I think so too but I disagree with the strategy. They were still set up to be good once Harper left especially if they kept developing their system

I don't think so either, but if they can get a average defense out of him he'll be a 4-5 win player and thats spectacular seeing as they will replace god awful Espinosa with Trae Turner.
