Big Ben is an elite QB, FWIW.

Not historically, but in the NFL today he is.

He is elite today based on what? There are 5 quarterbacks that are unquestionably better than him right now. There are another 4-5 you can make a decent argument for that are better.

I disagree. But there are so many factors that form a person's opinion when it comes to NFL quarterbacks. It's hard to even argue.

Basically the top 4 are set in stone. I think Rivers and Roethlisberger are after that. Big Ben had a great year last year and a great year this year, statistically.

You may think differently.

I was actually waiting to see who won tonight before picking my #4 QB. It would be hard to put Ben behind Rodgers if he beat Rodgers tonight.

Rodgers is better than Ben regardless of what happened on the field tonight. It wasn't really close either.

Not that close is a bit of an exaggeration, since I think a decent amount of people rank Rodgers fourth and Roethlisberger fifth after tonight. 3 rings to none is quite difference.

The Steelers have been good during Ben's time there in spite of Ben, not because of him. Dick LeBeau is greatnes with some good-great-elite defensive players plus a good, solid running game with a HoF receiver and a reliable tight end are the type of supporting class that about 25 quarterbacks in the NFL would cum their pants and slap their grandmammies to be a member of.

The top four are Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers even if the Steelers would have won tonight, IMO.

This SB performance definitely hurts his chances. Him being 28 helps. Plenty of time to win another or pile on the stats if he is capable. He did have a 4000 yard season, so he is probably capable.

Yeah, the fact that he's played in 3 Super Bowls in 7 years is really going to hurt his chances. Give me a break. If he continues to play in the Super Bowl almost every other year, he's a lock for the Hall of Fame.

If any performance should hurt his chance, it should be the first Super Bowl when he was horrendous. 9/21, 123 yards passing, 2 INTs, 22.6 passer rating.

Cmon guys, we have to be like Sportscenter and mike greenburg and judge Big Rape on different standards. You can't judge him in stats. I mean seriously, there were two years where he was in the top 5 in passer rating and comp %, and those are the areas where stats are kind to him. Two years in the top 5 passer rating and comp % = HOF LOCK! Forreal you guys, I know he's sacked more than any qb in the league, but he "extends the pocket" for gods sake!! He won a superbowl in his second year in the league you assholes, look away from that 9-23, 2 int stat line. Tommy Maddox, Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon, psssh, those dudes are scrubs, the Steelers couldnt win without Ben. That girl just bumped her head on the toilet, don't worry about that, it happens all the time.

Really? Dude is 10-3 in his playoff career. Second-highest winning percentage behind Bart Starr in NFL history. Yes, he played terrible yesterday, and I'll admit that.

I'm not tryin' to make excuses for the guy, but name another QB out there that could get through an entire season w/ a broken bone in his foot, a broken nose and a different O-line from week to week.

Dude is a winner, and he's got more Super Bowls ahead of him.

So I take it that you believe that Jay Barker was a better college QB than Peyton Manning.

I guess you didn't watch the last drive of Super Bowl XLIII when he drove them down the field against the Cardinals.

If you don't like the guy b/c of his off the field issues, then fine. But the Steelers are good IN SPITE of him? GTFO!

I've always wondered why people don't go with Tee Martin vs Peyton Manning?

I guess you didn't watch how the only way that they were in the position to win that game was because of the greatest defensive play in SB history.
