Didn't he get rewarded by the L H S A A hoi polloi for those efforts?

So what teams will be in the top 15 that shouldn't be there?

I'll wait and give you that answer plus the record vs the teams they put ahead of Neville as they announce them

But their folks aren't putting them in the same light with ECA , JC and wm

Not sure how mandeville got ahead of Salmen. If this is going by the past 5 yrs Salmen has been better. If it is going back 10 well then maybe I can understand with Katrina

2000 state champ here

Warren Easton should be the blueprint on how to build a good team at a NOLA public school on the east bank... if they can keep it going and not just have a good year of athletes there.

BUT, Chalmette last year had a 34-6 lead on these guys. granted they came back and won, but they trailed a horrible team by 34-6!!!!!!

fixed....

what they have done at that school since Katrina is outstanding and should be model..

but it took a lot of outsiders involvement..

and then the insiders have to take ownership

If Haynesville and Ducthtown played 10 times, do you honestly think Haynesville would win once? The T-P had a great idea doing this, but messed this list up big time. Everyone has an opinion. Riverside is better than Jesuit? Ouachita Christian is better than East St. John? Really?
Warren Easton at #15 is a tremendous reach by the nola.com staff. What has Easton done in recent memory to warrant the ranking?
With 14 teams left to rank, I would say the group should include: Archbishop Rummel, Barbe, West Monroe, Catholic, St. Augustine, St. Paul's, and Ouachita of Class 5A. Karr, Bastrop, and McDonogh 35 are 4A schools. Curtis, Evangel, and UHigh are three 3A programs. I suppose a Patterson or a school like that is still hanging around to be "ranked".
Curtis is #1 for sure, Karr is 2, then Rummel, West Monroe, Barbe, Catholic, and St. Augustine round out the rest.
My opinion but sound!

Curtis is not #1 "for sure" this year... they had a great team last year, but Karr and St. Aug are more loaded this year

also Amite and St. Charles Catholic...

of course now if you're not one of the top 14, you're not in the top 50 lol

and we still have a bunch of teams we know will be in it

Not really, Curtis is still loaded. They still have d-1 athletes all over the field and you know they are always tough in the trenches. St. Aug shouldn't even be in the argument, they don't have the defense Curtis and Karr have.

FWIW.. wasn't someone at Neville behind getting the ball rolling on ECA and JC playing in class?

No. That was Ruston. Current commish is a former principal at Ruston and Haynesville. ECA and Ruston were in the same district for several years.

I realize that Easton has a bunch of talent, but there is no way they are the #15 team in the state. Perennial underachievers.

frick yes Haynesville would beat Dutchtown at least once in 10 games. They have FAR superior coaching to Dutchtown. Hell they beat WM at WM before.
