Neville has beaten wm, ECA, or jc how many times in the past 20 years?

I'll wait and give you that answer plus the record vs the teams they put ahead of Neville as they announce them

Definitely. You'll start to see some of those kids that would normally go to Salmen start playing for Slidell..book it.

Favre is definitely going to do some good things there but it is going to be very very hard to steal kids from Salmen. I think Favre will have to take Slidell to the dome and or win it to steal kids from Salmen. Salmen has been a WAY better football program than Slidell for a very long time.

Favre is a great coach but the landscape of the northshore district has changed dramatically. When Favre was at FHS they were the largest school in the state. The year he made the semis he had 2 SEC RBs. He only won one playoff game outside of that semifinal year. As long as SPS keeps rolling and Lecompte is at MHS they are still the two teams to beat. If Covington ever figures it out they would be dangerous. Hell even Ponchy is a playoff team every year under Tierney which is a lot better than they were when Favre was at FHS. Also Lakeshore will probably be in the 5a district in two years. They have tons of skill. They have the potential to turn into what FHS was. The 2nd go around for Favre will definitely be a lot tougher than the first.

FYI - I found out today Northshore's HC may have to have surgery and could miss the season. He is a good guy working his butt off at a very hard school to win at.

To my knowledge 2, WM in 94 and 95. 0 wins against those other teams or WM since. They did play Evangel back when they were 1A or 3A in the 90's though. I know Evangel beat them once, not sure on the outcome of any other game. Curtis beat them every year it seemed when they were both in 4A.

Still bullshite that Neville is #16. No way in hell 15 teams in Louisiana would beat them. Hell, they could just give the ball to Hootie every play and beat all but 4-5 teams.

I believe Salmen was one of the first HS teams to incorporate strength training in its offseason workouts. They, along with OP Walker, were about the only 4A teams that could go toe-to-toe with Curtis in the 90s-early 00s. I have an aunt that teaches over there, and she said it's ridiculous the amount of talent that walks the halls.

You're right. That 2004 FHS team was unreal. They absolutely stomped us (part of that being because they were hungry from us upsetting them the year before ), but we were vastly overmatched. He did good things with the 2006 squad (only team to beat us my senior year) and took the School Board gig afterward. I'm not sure if he saw the future was bleak or what, but he definitely got out at the right time.

Absolutely. So much talent that doesn't even dress out.

They have a kid (2015, I think) at QB now that is a HELL of an athlete. Should be a D1 recruit as a WR/DB.

I hope Lakeshore eventually does make the jump. I'd like for Salmen to play up in 5A as well; they and Lakeshore could replace Hammond and Ponchatoula so that the entire district is St. Tammany teams. That would be nice.

Damn, I'll keep he and his family in my thoughts.

I think my junior year at FHS was the first time they made the playoffs and we got schooled by Rummel.

They beat ECA the year before they lost to them. They had Cutis beat in the semis one year when they had McKnight, but fumbled in the last 2 minutes on offense and let them have the ball back.

It was the 2001 season. Rummel was the 2 seed FHS was the 31 seed and the score was 38-14 or something close to that. I remember this because I watched Justin Vincent DESTROY Mandeville that same night of the first round of the playoffs.

The next couple of years for FHS doesn't look much better either talent wise. They need a new young coach to rejuvenate that program. BUT that school has a Brother Martin good ole boy network in full force. How Materne survived that 1-19 stretch I will never know.

agree with that.. but... look at PBS and ND too.....

it is a NOLA poll.... take it with a grain of salt.. and tequila...

FWIW.. wasn't someone at Neville behind getting the ball rolling on ECA and JC playing in class?
