Nick Saban and "the process"

Is it just me or this whole thing completely made up?
Almost every coach in football is a process oriented coach. The idea that Saban is the only one that is doing this or who has ever done this is absurd.

I can tell you as a lifelong salesperson that some people have better processes than others and some people pretend to have processes but very few truly believe in and are disciplined in there adherence to a process

NS's process is his process. And I am sure he developed this from some of the great coaches he has been around that were his mentors. He is a hard worker and pays attention to the details. The smallest of details does not pass him by. He also has a sense of urgency. Put those two things together and I bet only a small % of Americans master both of them well. That is what separates the Sabans and the Urbs of the world from the Lesticles of the world.

Saban is meticulous about every aspect of it, though. It is as though he doesn't care about he results at all. I think he is on the spectrum with Asperger's or something, and that isn't an insult. A lot of highly successful people are. He is obsessed and that sets him apart.
He can win a national championship and force himself to smile while thinking about recruiting at the post-game press conference. It is insane. He is a coaching robot.
Lots of coaches have a process. His is extreme and it works. I'm no fan of Saban, but you have to respect what the man does.

If every other coach is doing it, they suck at it. Nick Saban's resume speaks for itself. He can call his system whatever he wants

The way I look at it, every coach has a process. Saban's shits on them, so his is THE process

No process accounts for effort, motivation, and leadership. I can create a process on paper. Those intangibles come from a person's character.

That's my point. Saban's peocess might not work for Joe Philbin, because Philbin isn't a raging lunatic like Saban.

This is true. You can tell when Urban and Saban are in postgames of big wins and they are happy, but also say things like "we had a lot of mistakes today" or "we didn't play our best football." They let their teams know it is great to win, but show the mistakes very quickly to try and get their teams back to even keel. Doesn't always work as nothing is perfect with 18-21 year olds, but they do it the best in today's game.
This is what Meyer said on the B1G Teleconference show this week about OU:
"I was hoping when I watched the tape that everyone would see it the same way I saw it and they did," he said. "We have so much more room for improvement."

I don't think that is true, some coaches are much more broad overview types have multiple processes implemented by their coordinators on a skeleton framework the HC identifies.
Also, a process is like a plan, everybody has one until they get punched in the face (to paraphrase Mike Tyson). The real difference is that OCD midget at Alabama still has the same plan after. As much as I despise that little SOB, I gotta respect him as a coach.

Saban has every tiny detail of the program fine-tuned to increase his team's chance to win on the field. Every move is thought out, planned, practiced, and executed. From play-calling on Saturdays all the way down to eating Little Debbies snack cakes for breakfast.

Some coaches allow various assistants to tweak their "process". With Saban it is his way or the highway with very little deviation. One of the reasons he is so successful is that he has absolute control of every detail no matter who his assistants are.

Every coach in America has a process. Saban's process is just clearly better than everyone else's.
