Philly is in a weird situation. Prior to the season there was tank talk.

Then they made the playoffs. Gostisbehere was a beast and Provorov is coming.

But their goaltending sucks and I think Voracek blows.

It's a pretty solid overpay, but someone was going to do it, the blueliner market this offseason is terrible and he was the best of a bad market.

However, Florida is shopping Kulikov. I expect he gets traded.

But I agree with you.

That's about what I figured. At least he fills a big need, saw he's been great on the power play over the last few years.

He's a true offensive-defenseman.

He gets caught out of position a lot.

Got ya, should make a pretty good pairing with Ekblad though, right?

Yeah, and I also think Florida did great on the Gudbranson trade.

That's the sense I got from everything I read. Seems like the offense should be much more potent next year with the additions.

Jarmo doing work

He'll be doing a lot more work if he gets Hartnell and Tyutin off the roster. He's doing gods work if he somehow gets Clarkson off the roster without buying him out.

And if Foligno bounces back from his 73 to 37 point drop.

Vancouver has made Lucic and Eriksson their primary FA targets.

Lucic of course is a Van City native, and Eriksson would like playing with the Sedins.

Vancouver is probably the only fan base that totally doesn't despise that moron.

Calgary wants Fleury.

quote:

The team that everybody in the hockey world expected to make a run at Fleury — the Calgary Flames — is doing just that.

A source close to the Flames told me that Fleury has been on their agenda for many weeks.

Flames upper management members have been asking connections of theirs around the league about Fleury for quite some time.

The Flames, I’ve been told, have conducted a rather thorough research project on Fleury.

They have contacted the Penguins regarding their interest. Could something happen this summer? Or at the NHL Entry Draft this weekend? I’m told the Flames want to make this happen. Don’t look for Rutherford to budge unless Calgary comes through with a sizable offer.

• I’ve been told there is almost no chance that Ben Lovejoy will be back next season. He’s going to see huge money on the open market, the kind the Penguins simply can’t match.

Thomas Vanek's contract has been bought out by Minnesota.

Sounds like shattenkirk will be gone before nights over. Price going up, and he's top target on trade board at moment.

Sounds like Flames want a goalie, asap. If they help chicago and take crawford and help them clear cap space, Calgary can go frick themselves. Better options out there. I'd call Armstrong about Elliot before trading for Crawfords contract.

He has very good offensive hockey sense allowing him to create scoring chances in a variety of ways while making plays at top speed. His offensive instincts make him extremely dangerous in one-on-one situations and a scoring threat every time he is on the ice.”

For some reason the Stars resigned Jordie Benn to a 3 year, $3m deal. They do the right thing in getting rid of Goalagainsti but bring back the slackjaw stepbrother.

Yay.
