First the Celtics frick over the Wolves when they traded for KG. Now they're fixing to frick over the Nets by trading KG. That is some great team management.

Hey, if the Celtics manage to keep Rondo (who has a good contract) and tank for Wiggins next year, and they succeed?

It was damn worth it.

Unless they extend KG/Pierce, that would leave them with Williams, Lopez, and Joe Johnson eating up $58m in cap space and no flexibility to add anyone decent. Better win it all this season.

Ainge seems intent on keeping the Celtics mediocre, not good enough to win a championship.

Thats what you're doing when you lose Ray Allen and bring in Jason Terry to a team no close to good enough to win a championship.

Thats what you're doing if you're bringing in Gerald Wallace,Kris Humphries and draft picks in the 20s. They'll make the playoffs, but have no shot at actually winning anything.

Sack up and rebuild Ainge...

Possible Nets package includes expiring deal of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shenglia and three first-round picks, sources tell Y!

3 First Round picks.

Boston would be paying Wallace and Jeff Green a combined 20 million for the next 3 seasons. Don't see why Boston would do this, are any of those picks someone other than Brooklyn's?

Adding Gerald Wallace and Humphries to Rondo, Terry, Jeff Green, Bass, Sullinger, Crawford, isn't even close to tanking.

Brooklyn has no picks from anyone else.

In addition, they've given Atlanta the right to flip picks with them in 2014 and 2015 as part of the Joe Johnson trade.

Either way. Salaries work.

Supposedly, the Nets are flipping Marshon Brooks to the Wolves for a pick (#26) and a backup PG.

That may end up being one of the picks sent to Boston.

could the C's not just do the KG part (for Humphries + picks) and buy out Pierce so that they don't have to take back salary to match his?

I think the problem is that Brooklyn can't pay Pierce jack-shite.

I think they're so far over the cap and used all their exceptions that they could only offer a veteran minimum to him.

Yeah forgot Bradley.

Either be really good or blow it up and be really bad for a year or two.

That squad is a 4th-7th seed in the east and sets Boston up for mediocrity.

I would love to hear what you would do to reshape the Nets roster. With the moves they have made, they have to be in a win now mode. They have to give up something to get something. Boston obviously doesn't want Gerald freaking Wallace and Kris Humphries but they have to offer them to make the salaries work. The only value Boston would be getting are the first round picks. Any picks they receive the next 2 years are going to be really late picks also.

He might be one of the 3 picks mentioned. It's been rumored there is a deal in place send Brooks to Minnesota for the #26 pick.

I'm talking about getting themselves into this mess to begin with.

They paid a premium for Deron without a guarantee he'd re-sign.

They flipped a pick that became 6th overall for Wallace when he was an expiring contract.

They brought in Joe Johnson's albatross of a contract in order to have someone to put next to Deron after the Dwight Howard deal disintegrated.

It's been quick-fix after quick-fix for that team and I don't see it getting any better by taking on Garnett and Pierce for one fleeting shot at knocking off the Knicks, let alone the Heat.

That team isn't better than:
Miami
Chicago
New York
Brooklyn
Indiana
Atlanta (with Smith back)
Milwaukee
Washington

King is a disaster. It was a joke that he kept his job while Avery and PJ lost theirs because of the moves that he has made. I think this move would be good for them though, get better in the short term while shedding their 2nd worst contract in Wallace. Losing the picks is the only downside but none are going to be that high anyway.

Well obviously they are retarded, but they have no choice but to go with it.

I honestly think they might be really good. The problem with Boston I believe was them having KG play center. With the Nets he can move back to power forward. With him not having to bang around as much, we might see a resurgence in his offensive numbers.

It sounded like your point was this would be a playoff team and this isn't a good way to try to rebuild.

Im saying that team is horrible and they have no chance at the playoffs.
