That would be value over replacement player. Better metric than PER imho.

I'm not insinuating that y'all are taking his name out of the hat for best player in the league or anything.

It's pretty entertaining to watch such a dominant player look so ordinary in that moment.
Oh, frick me then I must have missed all the other times y'all rag on players for not sealing every big game, silly me. Damn you Lebron! How could you have a bad free throw night?!

I understand what this looks like. And can see how easy it would be to destroy my point here with some non witty response(not saying you're doing that). But damn guys, y'all don't even try to hide it. Bash away I guess. Maybe he can look around the league and take from all the insanely impressive peers he has. You'll get em next time Bron Bron

I don't expect you to read this whole thread, by I specifically actually mentioned that I'm a LeBron fan, but today was particularly fun to rag on him because the game was so heated and Harden is having an MVP year (and LeBron really is the litmus test). Also, this situation was just so unusual. The odds of a 73% free throw shooter missing 7 out of 8 at any given time is 0.008%. Of course it will happen during some stretch in a career. But this was on a national stage in crunch time.

I wouldn't bet on the Rockets to make the finals, but I love that nobody believes this team can make it. Just more haters to motivate this team. When the Rockets are clicking, they are pretty unstoppable. I don't see any reason why the Rockets couldn't replicate the 2011 Mavs championship run. I wouldn't say it's likely, but with this style of basketball, it is definitely possible. Harden will have to be great in the playoffs, of course. But with the depth this team has, any number of players can step up on any given night to help out.

Not trying to come at you or anything. Just kinda worked out that way because you're one of the only guys responding to me

I guess I just don't understand the whole "make fun of Lebron that one night he doesn't win his team the game" thing.

Haven't been lately

Thank god we actually have decent depth now

3 months ago if you told me that the pels would go on a 5 game win streak sans AD I would think you should be committed

Just went to look at y'all schedule and y'all better have that playoff spot locked up heading in to April because that month looks brutal

It's the sub .500 teams from the east that really give us fits

We actually play better against those type of teams.

Plus you may have teams like Memphis and Golden State resting players by then.

15-16 vs teams over .500
17-11 vs sub 500 teams.

Which is a big improvement over previous seasons,a lot of close losses and a couple of blown ones earlier in the year.

Also this is intriguing:

Pelicans are now 20-14 in the Western Conference. Only five West teams (GSW, MEM, LAC, HOU, POR) have a better record.

To be fair, you could say this about every team that makes the West playoff field
