I thought about Tony Allen and Lance Stephenson. I can see an argument for Tony Allen, but PBev has dedicated himself to his craft and taken it to another level lately.

I mean, he won the all star skills challenge without even completing a pass. HIs head games are second to none.

I really don't remember this happening. I think it was more, people realized that klay was fricking good but that steph was still the one who made everything happen. hell, look at the LeBron quote

Tony Allen is by far a better perimeter defender than Pat Bev, but Bev is easily the best instigator in the game. He's not even that skilled of a defender. He just completely mindfricks players. And when he has a seven game series to do it, it's on.

Allen is past his prime. That MEM Defense has fallen off this year. Last couple years they've been a top 2-3 D, this year that isn't the case.

Yes. But I have been following the race closely. And before that week, Harden and Curry were in a dead heat, although I noticed most people named Curry 1a and Harden 1b. Then we had the week of praising Klay Thompson. The next week, people were saying they had Harden slightly ahead of Curry. Nobody came out and said it, but there is only one explanation.

They've had the #1 defense in the league this calendar year

Not even top 5 in efficiency. Last 2 years they were arguably the leagues best(ie top 2-3 in efficiency) can't make that argument this year.

I am not Boom, and I still believe that Memphis is scary, but the fact that people mention Beverley as one of the best defenders in the game tells you how good of an instigator he is because he seriously is not that good of a defender.

This year he hasn't been as good but in the past he's been deserving of his reputation.

This is true. Beverley was a much better defender last year (although still slightly overrated I thought).

But I think this year he has been dealing with injuries.

Can't lie, I'm laughing at everyone in here making fun of Lebron.

Cleveland is gonna hand y'all a rude awakening this year after seemingly being a weaker team than some of the real contenders.

Sure, Lebron got a bit off track tonight. But y'all are making yourselves look foolish. Houston fans......

Everyone enjoy Lebron shitting his pants tonight, it'll be the highlight of most of y'all's NBA fan watching season.

CLE doesn't want anything to do with HOU in a finals matchup.

Pretty sure they'll be happy with any matchup in the finals.

Lebron was a beast from everywhere except the ft line. He wanted this one and almost got it.

I don't think anybody has been taking Cleveland lightly anymore. They won 18 of their last 20 before the game against the Pacers where both Kyrie and LeBron sat out and today.

Thta's what made this game so intense. The Cavs were the hottest team in basketball, and two MVP candidates with good teams were going at it.

As for the rest of your post...

Not doubting the intensity or seriousness of the game. And good game Houston, not trying to say y'all aren't a really good team.

Oh a "he mad gif." The equivalent of a politician calling another politician a racist, good work haha.

Not here to knight for Lebron, guy isn't perfect. Y'all laughing at him doesn't piss me off. Just think it's downright hilarious how you "intelligent" basketball fans discuss basketball when it comes to him.

Let's say he sucked. Got carried away. Too aggressive. Not smart play and hogged the ball. Every single person here knows his game(or maybe not) and knows what he'll bring at a consistent basis and in the playoffs. Y'all look like fools and there's no other way to slice it.

Also pretty funny that Love is becoming a victim here. Horrible trade, yes. And not his fault. But now we got guys who have bashed him and the trade for months insinuating that he's a victim here and not being allowed to play like his, uhhh, super successful self....?

Just funny to me, not mad.

BBall reference comparison of the top 5 MVP candidates

Kind of surprised to see LeBron faring worse than basically all of them in the advanced stats. He usually dominates that area

Where are you finding this stuff? I don't think a single person in here as seriously suggested that the Cavs aren't a favorite to win the title. It's just funny to laugh at a player clearly choking on a big stage, especially when it was obvious how seriously he was taking it. LeBron has stepped away from big moments before or missed shots. But today he took all of the shots, made a good chunk of them, and then just flat-out choked at the free throw line. Even after all of his misses, he had a chance to hit just one out of two to tie the game, and he couldn't do it. He's one of the greatest players ever. It's pretty entertaining to watch such a dominant player look so ordinary in that moment.

Harden leads in OWS, DWS, WS, VORP. Scoring title. Just go ahead and give the man his MVP.
