Only until the Pels land KD next year and roll out a KD/AD combo. A kid can dream...

Right, some of the greats were either drafted to teams or eventually had multiple HOFers on their teams.

I know this has been hashed out and repeated a million times, but Lebron played 7 seasons and the best teammate he had was Mo Williams.

Not every great should follow the same career path based on outside influences. Like I mentioned, we always roast players for not caring about titles, and Lebron threw away his reputation to win titles, and at the time he and everyone else thought he was giving up any MVPs going forward due to sharing time with the other 2 guys, but he gets no love for that sacrifice, only hate, which is just odd.

I really think it's just people who didn't like him before and didn't want him to win so they wanted him to stay in CLE with Mo Williams, but leaving really killed any chance to keep going with the "choker/can't win the big one" narrative so it just made those guys even more angry.

I'm not even saying it's 100% fair to Lebron. But I guess the argument is that he could've gotten people to Cleveland and won there. And sure, Gilbert is a fricking idiot, and who knows about their front office, but I'd assume if the best player on the planet wants things to happen, the front office can make that happen (rather than lose him). But instead, he took his talents to Miami and put together a (seemingly) superteam. I'm not sure why anyone thought that he'd be foregoing MVPs and whatnot, because him going to a better team with better players doesn't change his spot as the best in the business.

And I do agree with you that it's a litle odd that he seems to only get hate for that, but I think that has to do with how the situation played out and all the attention he got (and seemed to want). Basically, it rubbed people the wrong way. So while Lebron haters had fuel added to their fires, people on the fence about him likely started to lean away from him after that.

And that's just my two cents, btw...from someone who doesn't like or hate Lebron.

Well those are unrealistic expectations to expect LBJ to do it by himself when no one has ever done it by themselves.

Even MJ needed help. He was fortunate that he had a front office to get that help. If you have a front office full of morons, you either sit there and collect your money or go to organizations where people know what they're doing.

I do not understand why this is so difficult for people.

They didn't know how to make it happen. Being a great front office isn't about acquiescing to the specific desires of their star players. It's about getting the job done.

MJ would not have had the wisdom to trade for Scottie Pippen. And he damn sure wasn't in favor of drafting Horace Grant since that made his best friend Charles Oakley expendable.

Doing whatever your star player wants you to do means you're a crappy front office. That doesn't mean you never take his wishes into consideration but the front office needs to do their job.

Of course. But players of Lebron's caliber (of which there aren't many) certainly do (and should) have an impact on things of that nature. Just like with MJ, sure the front office didn't answer his every beck and call, but we're insane to think Jordan didn't have input on certain decisions and players...just like Lebron does as well.
