What counts as "news" these days is so fricking hilarious (and I'm not even saying that it's not news, but it's just funny to me that someone following someone else on Twitter is something that makes people take notice and get the rumor mill grinding).
I don't think he leaves Miami, but he's earned the right to go wherever he wants IMO. And if he can go to a contender and contribute and get another ring, then good on him.

It is funny but I think if you follow the wade situation closely he's clearly using social media to negotiate/put pressure on the heat.

Only way getting Wade would help is if they were able to also keep Love. Wade and LeBron are both natural slashers with LeBron shooting a decent 3 ball. If they had Mozgov and Thompson clogging the middle, Irving would be the only threat to kick it out to on drives. Unless he is willing to come in as a 6th man, or develop a 3 point shot in his mid 30's, I don't think it helps the Cavs.

Years from now people that actually took control of their careers and dictated the terms of who they'd play for will be looked upon much more favorably. Inherently it makes perfect sense but people want to view the player that cedes control of his career to management as more honorable somehow.

Then 2010 and the Big 3 happened, and now taking less money to win is also frowned upon.

Can't really compare them IMO. Lebron, like him or hate him, is the best player in the world. And he went to DWade's team to win championships...which DWade had already done in Miami.
Dwayne Wade has nothing to prove anymore really, so him going to a contender at this point in his career to help out and possibly win another ring isn't front running in the same capacity as it was when James went to Miami.

Literally just about the entire Heat roster in year 1 and 2 played for a deal less than they coulda gotten elsewhere, maybe Joel Anthony and another one I can't think of, that's about it. If Lebron weren't on that team, they woulda been lauded, but instead, most hated team ever!!!!
To be fair though, Lebron was the "chosen one" and many thought he could've/should've elevated the Cavs to a championship team without having to leave to team up with his buddies to win.
I don't think people fault players trying/wanting to win as much as they fault someone like Lebron having to leave "his team/home" to achieve it. A lot of the greats did it with "their" team and it wasn't the same situation.
In a way, I guess it would be kinda like Charles Barkley when he went to Houston to try to get a ring...I remember people thinking that back then. But again, even Charles isn't on the same level as someone like Lebron. And when you're trying to be one of the best to ever play (in which you're in small company), you open yourself up to being criticized for making those kinds of moves.
That's why Dwayne Wade going to a contender at this point in his career isn't the same thing. At least IMO.

Well those are unrealistic expectations to expect LBJ to do it by himself when no one has ever done it by themselves.
Even MJ needed help. He was fortunate that he had a front office to get that help. If you have a front office full of morons, you either sit there and collect your money or go to organizations where people know what they're doing.

I know this has been hashed out and repeated a million times, but Lebron played 7 seasons and the best teammate he had was Mo Williams.
Not every great should follow the same career path based on outside influences. Like I mentioned, we always roast players for not caring about titles, and Lebron threw away his reputation to win titles, and at the time he and everyone else thought he was giving up any MVPs going forward due to sharing time with the other 2 guys, but he gets no love for that sacrifice, only hate, which is just odd.
I really think it's just people who didn't like him before and didn't want him to win so they wanted him to stay in CLE with Mo Williams, but leaving really killed any chance to keep going with the "choker/can't win the big one" narrative so it just made those guys even more angry.
