McDaniels hates drama and selfish players

thats why Cutler is gone, Marshall is gone, and they passed on Dez

he's doing what he's gotta do to get a team that he likes

People are stupid on here. They want to acknowledge the picks san diego got back for moving down in the draft but don't acknowledge the picks denver acquired to move down in the draft as well and packaged them to move back up to acquire 2 first round picks overall.

that's the point. they had a great strategy going and could've added some serious talent and then blew their wad on a SINGLE 2nd/3rd rounder.

you mean up until you really found out what their strategy was... yeah makes sense.

yes, and on a guy with a ton of work to do before he can play at the NFL level... at least by all accounts his motion, his experience under center, and his ability to check down receivers are all lacking

sounds like a multiple year project you gave up way too much to get

so you're thinking is that early in the 1st round Denver knew they wanted to draft Tebow late in the 1st? They then traded down a couple of spots, got picks, knew they could trade those picks for another 1st rounder, and would et Tebow there? That was their strategy?

If so, see the point hammered home about reaching. Convoluted reaching at that.

How do you know Josh McDaniels isn't planning on building his offense around Tebow and creating some kind of shotgun-based offense?

He's young and crazy enough to do it.

It's highly unlikely, but until you see what McDaniels has planned for Tebow, can we not call him a bust just because he's not a "pocket passer" or a "pro-style QB". Maybe he won't have to be.

Umm... apparently it was a part of their plans. I don't think the shite was random coincidences.

I said you can not compare Rivers situation to this one.

San Diego was forced to trade Eli, and in return got Rivers and future draft pics, which happened to be pro bowlers Shawn Merrimen and Nate Kaeding.

Denver traded down several times and were able to get to picks in the first round. My problem has to do with the value of Tim Tebow. I do not think he is worth A)the 25th pic in the draft and B) an additional 2nd,3rd and 4th round draft pick.

You can say that all you want but when you had another team working on jumping back in to snag him, Denver had to what they had to do in order to get him. His value isn't worth it but you had multiple NFL teams trying to do this... obviously Tebow's value was there in the late 1st.

your comment was re: their strategy from the beginning. I don't think they could have set it up that way that early nor that was the ends to the means. I think they were going to use those picks to shore up a mediocre team on both sides of the ball, heard another team was interested in taking Tebow early and then panicked.

so you think they thought tebow was going to last well into the 2nd round?

I won't call Tebow a bust unless we get out 5 years and he was never effective

Create a NFL shotgun offense for him? Fine, dunno why you would do that when the same option would be available with other college players... but have at it

And maybe he'll be great... but even those who (justifiably) love and appreciate Tebow for what he did at Florida should be rational enough to understand he was a project pick for a first rounder and the Denver organization looks like they are taking a big roll of the dice on the most important position on the team

If some team with a veteran QB had drafted him I would have tipped my cap at teh team and hoped he will develop over 2-3 years.

isn't orton gone?

I meant a worthwhile starting qb he could sit behind anyway... does no one any good to sit him behind a garrard or hassellbeck if those guys are no longer effective

IMO he needs a stable place to develop for a while before being tossed into the fire
