I thought German heritage was the plurality 100 years ago for the United States. I feel like if Germany ruled Europe it wouldn't be all that unlikely

It was then, and still was up until the last decade or two. However, there weren't and aren't enough people with close enough ties to German to make that happen, it still wasn't anywhere near a majority of the population

The Saints because of one reason and his name is Tom Benson. That scumbag greedy piece of garbage used Hurricane Katrina as leverage to extort hundreds of millions from unknowing state tax payers just to stay in NOLA. How can any Saints' fan think that is OK?

Don't care. The moribund residents of our city live dependently on the Saints. If we didn't have the Saints to live for a few months out of the year we'd collapse in on ourselves like a dying star.

I despise the Steelers because of Super Bowl XL. I was 12, and it was the first football game I ever watched where I had a vested interest. I just decided I was rooting for the Seahawks, they lost, and I've been a hater ever since.

Many, many people on the Rant feel it is bizarre to root for LSU if you didn't go to school there. That feeling is not isolated to LSU fans, but I still think it is the dumbest shite I've ever heard.

Those same fans think it is treasonous for a Louisiana prospect to commit out of state, yet they've got a problem with sidewalk fans. Go figure.

I did as well because they beat the Cowboys in those earlier Super Bowls.

I also root for the Red Wings in hockey because a good buddy of mine was a big fan. He taught me hockey when we were deployed using NHL 2K

The Seahawks for the same reason.

I root against Labron due to all the media attention over him.

Root for the Roethlisberger and the Steelers because he wrote a letter to LSU about how much he enjoyed playing in Tiger Stadium.

I wouldn't consider this bizarre, but I became a Cubs fan from watching them on WGN every day after school. I used to get mad if I didn't make it home before the 7th inning stretch.

This is because of people were pissed off about the spending on the world cup.

A lot of the others seem to be based on demographics and politics. It's definitely not that common, especially when you look at the percentages.
