My point was, he's never, that I've seen, taken over a game and won it himself. He's not the guy I would ever want with the ball in his hand with 2 minutes to go down by 4.

Deshaun Watson is that guy.

ETA:

Winner in the colloquial sense. "I want that guy on my team, he's a winner".

Jordan Jefferson won games at LSU, I don't consider him a winner.

Wait, what? Kizer did exactly that (two minute drives at the end of the game) against two of the three teams you just named, both of them on the road. Take a look at that Clemson game again: ND was down 21 - 3 in the 4th on the road in a hurricane and was a 2 point conversion away from forcing OT. For that matter, Kizer absolutely outplayed Watson by a lot in that game.

Both were hailmarys, for what it's worth

How was Ohio State's pass a Hail Mary?

There was still 25 seconds on the clock and it was first and 10 from Wisconsin's 40.

A deep ball to a wide open WR does not automatically qualify as a Hail Mary.

McShay has Fournette #3 overall, while Mayock doesn't even have him as the top RB. All of these things are to be taken with a grain of salt.

The hate for Kizer is laughable. Someone said he's "not a team guy" lol really? Have they followed ND football? There was a whole damn documentary series on the team in 2015 when he had to step up and lead the team to a game winning drive, on the road, in the rain without ever having taken a meaningful snap. He didn't bitch when BK was an idiot and rotated Qbs against Texas this year, and came in and lit up that secondary (not that that's impressive). Notre Dame blew last season but I promise Kizer wasn't the reason for it.

ETA: The kid gave up baseball to focus solely on football, but guess he's "selfish" and not a "team guy".

Caterpillar also says DK was not a "team guy"

Lol. Kizer was loved by everyone. Put the team ahead of his self several times.

I'm going to assume caterpillar is simply deluded

Cook is a better NFL back than Fournette.. It's really not close. He can catch and is faster and more elusive and he fits way more schemes and can play 3rd down.

Fournette is basically a faster DeMarco Murray... Dead ahead straight runner in the NFL. If he goes stop a dominant OLine team he'll have an OK career.

Who do you think runs a faster 40, Cook or LF? I'd bet it's LF, and if he isn't faster, he is still elite and within a tenth of Cook

LF can catch too and will be a true 3 down back. You're talking out of your arse

Cousins does not have best record QB in school history and never played in a NY6 game

He was the winningest QB in Michigan State history when he graduated. Connor Cook passed him because he went like 36-5 or something insane like that. He also won a big ten championship and was a bad roughing the punter penalty call away from a second big ten championship and a rosebowl birth where they ended up beating Georgia in the Outback bowl instead. Calling him not a winning college quarterback is beyond ignorant.

The only staring NFL QBs that didn't have a winning% above .500 their last years of college are Cutler and Trevor Siemian

I agree that Cook is more suited to today's NFL, and he fits in more schemes. But the rest of what you said is wrong.

Speed-wise Fournette is probably equal to or even faster than Cook. He was timed at like 22.9 MPH on a TD against Ole Miss this year, faster than anyone in the NFL was recorded at in the last two seasons. He is also reasonably elusive, he doesn't have the cutting skills of Cook but single defenders in space will never take him down once he's got momentum. If Fournette hits the hole and makes it through... yikes. For this reason, stopping him becomes priority for LBs, you can frequently see teams sending their LBs downhill from the middle with a running start to try and plug gaps, this frees up a lot in the intermediate part of the field. Tons of film examples from this season where slot WRs and even TEs were opened up underneath because of LBs coming up for him (LSU QBS cannot capitalize). His blocking and receiving are underrated and 2016 film shows he made huge strides there, it just doesn't show volume-wise because he was hurt.

The guy is basically Adrian Peterson with catching ability. He will be on the field for 3rd downs. I think Cook will miss out on short-to-go situations because he has no power to push a pile. His versatility is outstanding though, it's rare to see RBs who can run deep and make high-point catches. A creative offense like NO or NE would have a field day with someone like Cook.

So do not think they were unbeaten or these great winners.

A QB's team has to be unbeaten for him to be considered a "great winner?" Well that's a standard that very few QBs are going to meet. All of the QBs you listed elevated the status and play of their teams due to their ability. You listed Cousins and Prescott among other silly ones as not winning college QBs FFS.

To answer the original question, John Elway's Stanford teams never played in a bowl game yet he is an all time great

I can see the opinion Cooks will fit better at the next level, but not even close? Yeesh.

See the problem with the board's opinions on things is there is never middle ground. One guys says Cook is better than Fournette, then someone responds that LF is better than AP without having played a down in the NFL.

Let that sink in. Someone who said someone elses opinion was dumb then said LF was Adrian Peterson with better hands, without having seen LF play 1 down in the NFL
