Umm let's see

Prescott
Brees
Manning
Wilson
Cousins

Prescott had Mississippi fricking State at #1 in the country. We have to measure each guy's success relative to their program. Eli had Ole Miss in the top 5, Peyton same with UT. Look at Purdue before and after Brees.

This.

Terrible idea to include those. They brought their teams to the height of their programs in modernity.

Kizer has never been a winner? What do we call his 2015 season?

I think every QB is different. I couldn't see Brees totally shutting a guy out the way Favre did to Rodgers

He regressed big time and didn't beat any of the good teams they played in 2015.

ETA:

The best two teams he beat were Navy and Temple, who had records of 11-2 and 10-4 in shite conferences. The rest of the teams he beat combined for a 37-62 record.

In the 3 games they lost (to Clemson, OSU, and Stanford), he completed 56% of his passes.

But where is Jabrill Peppers?
in the safety category.

Which I'm not sure is his best position for his future. I've said before he has a bit of a problem in that his coverage skills and hips lack a good bit, but he's a very good player in the box, so being the new age LB could work for him. problem is those new age LBers aren't returning kicks. He either needs to be a return man only or gain 15 lbs to be a LB. I don't think he lasts as a safety in the league

My point was, he's never, that I've seen, taken over a game and won it himself. He's not the guy I would ever want with the ball in his hand with 2 minutes to go down by 4.

Deshaun Watson is that guy.

ETA:

Winner in the colloquial sense. "I want that guy on my team, he's a winner".

Jordan Jefferson won games at LSU, I don't consider him a winner.

Jabrill Peppers is 6'1" 210 (although the real numbers might be different at the combine as often happens)

Deion Jones is 6'1" 222

If those are Jabrill's real specs, he could easily add 10-15 lbs and become a Deion Jones type LB, right? I'm sure he'll find a spot. Maybe he needs to get with Kwon's trainer to beef up ;)

I think he's 205 or so really but the point stands and I agree. However, he's best known for being a kick returner and he's not doing that at 220

Professional quarterbacks are not in the business of mentoring/grooming guys that want to take their jobs.
Brees is pushing 40 and has Sean Payton's lips around his balls. He ain't going no where & the Saints will continue to suffer because of it.

I think the original premise is absurd but most of these names are very debatable

As it is about Carr

Admittedly I know very little about Kizer and never watch ND so really have maybe seen him throw 15 passes total, but there has to be a reason so many mocks and rankings have had him as the #1 or #2 QB and a high end prospect.

People tend to put too much stock into college performances versus the raw talent an NFL team sees and wants to develop.

There has to be aspects to him that teams are liking, arm strength, accuracy, pocket presence, ability to read a defense at the line and adjust etc.

I know that the Raiders didn't give two shits about what Carr did at Fresno, they loved his quick release throwing motion, accuracy and arm strength from the get go and had him as their #1 QB on their board well before the draft.

bad troll or just stupid? Prescott got fricking Miss St to #1. Brees won a lot of games in college. Brees was a big time name when he was in college. Manning was the winningest college qb at one time.

TBF Kizer won a lot of games in 2015. All the tools are there, which is why the NFL scouts like him.

Eli won 24 games as a Starter his last 3 years, 1 10 win season.

Brees' never won more than 8 games a year at Purdue.

Dak's MSU teams were 10-3, losing 3 of last 4 and 9-4, losing 3 of last 4 in regular season.

For the poster that asked look at Purdue after they had 16 wins, winning 9 the next year. So they stayed the same. Then 3 years later in 05 Orton had left also, they went to the cellar.

My point is you do not have to be a double digit winner to be a good to great NFL QB.

You mentioned these guys and QBs that "Couldn't carry their team to victory in college". Not "guys that didn't win double digit games".
