The most complicated offense ever. The motion and the fakes, you never knew who had the damn ball.

It is my favorite offense in high school because the system can overcome so many weaknesses on a team. Some of the best coaches in the state run it to the tune of 40-50 points a game in many cases.

I've seen some teams that lacked in individual talent take more talented teams to the woodshed with that offense. I'm a huge fan.

Calvary's middle school has always passed the ball a lot. They also play 7 on 7 tournaments.

Especially when the Wingback is as good of an athlete as the Quarterback and start with the fakes and reverse stuff.

in 8th grade, we only passed a few times the entire season.

our qb had a great arm and was accurate enough, but we had nothing but runt/scrub WRs that couldn't catch anything.

Went to my first game and 1 team passed once the whole game.

I refer to middle school football as "the lost years"

Mostly this for us too. QB actually ended up being an SEC baseball player and there was talent at WR, but from a risk/reward standpoint it made more sense to run the ball. We were tough to stop on the ground, so throwing it never really made much sense at that level.

Yeah I mean I've seen teams run the Wing T and get all the motion going right, but have the right-side wingback cut across the formation and pull the right guard for a trap on the left. Offensive linemen don't even have to block, they just have to get in the way of their man long enough to hide the reverse. LBs at that level get caught up in the motion to the right and don't stand a chance. There is so much misdirection in that offense it is just beautiful to watch when executed well.

I've watched it at the high school level for some time now and I love everything about it. I'm surprised it isn't run more often to be honest.

Early to mid 00's it was wildly popular in Georgia - seemed every other team was running it. Before that in the 90's the power I, Wishbone, and Veer were all you really saw. Now the spread is the hot offense to run. It's all cyclical. They all work - some better than others based on personnel.

We used the Wing T because it was our coaches philosophy to put the best athletes on defense ( especially linemen). You can run the Wing T with average size 175lb pulling guards if they are tough and mean and the wingbacks can be receiver types if they are willing to block.

I went to a middle school game.

I think they ran at least 90% of the time.

My middle school did not have a tackle football team but I played on playground teams until I was 13. Our 12/13 team threw 5-6 times a game. This was over 20 years ago.

I played QB in the 8th grade and threw one pass all year. It was a FB fake, TE seam route that went for a touchdown. I was too short to see over the line, couldn't see shite, I just threw the ball to where he was supposed to be

the majority of our plays came out of two formations

I formation with an H-back (we called it wingback) and I formation with twin receivers to the right. We could've passed all over teams back then because no one threw the ball and there was always single coverage. Just put your best player at WR and throw it to him. Our coach was Les Miles level stubborn though
