In a ring, Mayweather embarrasses McGregor.

In an octagon, McGregor embarrasses Mayweather.

This is so dumb.

Yes. I'd like to see it to have a point of reference for how big the gap is between an MMA fighter's boxing skill and a pure boxer in a boxing match.

Novelty of it never having been done before. Few boxers tried to cross over to MMA late in their careers but they weren't very noteworthy (James Toney only one I remember). Kimbo crossed over to boxing for a bit but he was a joke as a professional fighter. His street fights were entertaining admittedly.

This is the top draw in MMA and one of the best Pound for Pound fighters in the world crossing over to box one of the best Pound for Pound boxers ever. I mean I'm at least a little intrigued.

Oh yea. It's one more chance to see Money get beat down. If it were to happen it would prob be my fav sports moment of all time.

I hope they both knock each other out in the first round. Zero interest

It doesn't really get my excited, but neither did Mayweather vs Pacquiao. But I will watch it nonetheless.

The gap is going to be embarrassingly big if Mayweather takes this seriously.

Trash fight and easy 12-0 decision for Mayweather...and he wants a rumored $100mil for the fight. I won't be watching.

If McGregor is down 10-0 on the card, I hope he just blasts Mayweather with a headkick.

Mcgrgeor is one of th most exciting fighters in combat sports. Floyd is the most boring. I am sure everyone except the 15 boxing purists left will be rooting for mcgregor to KO floyd.

McGregor just wants to get paid. I can't blame him. He has zero chance of winning.

He'll make more money losing to Floyd boxing than he would in his entire MMA career.

My interest is the hope that this finally puts to rest the mma fighter can beat a boxer boxing talk. It's always been ridiculous and even more so in this instance. I doubt McGregor could beat a solid, somewhat contending boxer standing up boxing the whole time much less the best in the business. It's all about money and nothing else.

Now if somehow McGregor pulls the upset, we are perhaps talking the greatest upset of all time. That would be interesting but I wouldn't put money on it happening.

I think if they fight at 154 or 155 and if Connor isn't forced to where Floyd's pillow gloves he's got a ~5% chance to pull the biggest upset in the history sports

Yup, and think Conner has a sluggers chance. I won't pay for it though, maybe hit the local pub. Would be ridiculous to think we would outpoint Mayweather.

And the opposite is equally true. A boxer like Mayweather would get his arse beat in MMA. Bad. First round.

This will be a shitty Mayweather 12 round dance fight with an easy decision win, Connor won't do shite.

But the Ronnie's will be lined up around the block to watch this in the hopes that McGregor lands a lucky punch. Which he won't.

If he did, it would be one of the great moments in sports history.

I'll be watching a free stream.

Conor has no sluggers chance. If you think he punches anywhere in the same vicinity of De La Hoya, Cotto, Canelo or Mosley you have no idea what you are looking at.
Also, watch Mcgregor spar Chris Van Heerden. He couldnt land a shot on that guy and was embarrassed. Van Herden is not even a top 20 welterweight.
This whats called Floyd stealing money.

I don't want this fight and won't watch, and I usually watch Mayweather fights.

This is a side show. The match everyone wants is happening (Canelo/GGG) and Mayweather's trying to stay in the spotlight with this. Won't work.

To answer your question, I have no idea what the appeal is here. There is virtually no chance of a Conor win and none of that off the wall stuff like him putting an MMA hold on Mayweather is going to happen.
