What would be unexpected? MMA fighter against one of the best boxers in modern history? It is pretty expected what is going to happen.

it'll be like the manny fight, most knew the fight would suck but then get pissed off they purchased it.

I'm interested but Mayweather is going to run the entire match. Jab. Step back. Run. Repeat

What is running in a boxing match? When you don't allow the opponent to hit you?

Why has no one else figured out that you can win all of your matches if you just run?

I will never pay to see another Mayweather fight. He and Pac pretty much destroyed US boxing after that last shitshow.

I disagree. Mayweather doesn't have any film on McGregor to study how to move and counterpunch other than MMA. That might prove difficult.

Manny seemed content and didn't really try to push/pursue FM with the same kind of vigor CM should bring in his match with FM.

Question is... If McGregor just looks halfway decent against Mayweather, does he try to pivot to boxing full time? Good IFC deal will be done in a couple of years and he would be the biggest draw in the sport... He could absolutely milk 2 or 3 gigantic paydays out of boxing. Who wouldn't want to see A Possibility of McGregor vs GGG or Canelo?

McGregor is playing the long von here. He's destroyed his division in UFC and will try make his 2 or 300 million off of boxing.

No he hasn't. He's had 1 fight at 155.

And he's still got Frankie at 145.

Mighty Mouse has cleaned out his division. GSP cleaned out his division. Anderson cleaned out his division. CM has a long way to go before we're talking about him cleaning out divisions.

He's playing it smart, but I'm not sure if Dana will let him continue to pursue boxing.

Does anyone stop and think that there's a reason why boxers don't just cut the ring off and rush Mayweather? He does actually hit his opponents and it hurts enough to where they're unable to simply walk through his punches.

And they're potshots, meaning there's nothing his opponent could do to stop it, except not to expose himself in the first place. And that's what eventually happens in most of his fights, his opponents stop throwing punches because they're tired of being pot-shotted.

If Conor is insane and just rushes in with reckless abandon, I suppose there's some small chance that he lands the perfect shot on Mayweather but the likely scenario is that Conor ends up on the mat multiple times.

Mayweather and his people will be smart enough to have a shitload of financial penalties built in if McGregor puts him in a chokehold or kicks him in the face in the final round so that's off the table. Maybe.

I agree. But it's a fun thought. CM would be the type to do it, too.

McGregor takes a fall early and they both laugh their way to the bank.

Exactly

All his 145 fights were tailored made for him, he was given gifts throughout his whole ufc tenure except for Aldo and mendes

He got in Aldo's head which showed aldo is a mental case

Mendes took the fight on short notice and could have won with a full training camp

Alvarez at 155 had a shitty strategy

Edgar has the tools to beat mcgregor at 145 or 155

I'm going to pay per view it. Floyd will kick his arse; but I'm watching on the .01% chance that Conor gets a lucky punch in and knocks him out

I see people say this but:

Aldo
Mendes
Diaz x 2
Porier
Alvarez

Arent exactly gifts. Anyone going 5 out of 6 in that lineup is pretty dang good.

frick, he knocked out all of them except diaz who just doesnt get knocked out by even bigger dudes. Outside of those he had like 2 other fights in the ufc? Siver was the only real gift.

Damn I even forgot about holloway, another stud.

It's a strong list, but I would take Mendes off. He had two weeks to prepare.

Until he fights Frankie at 145, no one can say he's cleaned out the division.
