Keeping Love and getting rid of TT is the correct play, too bad LeBron would throw a hissy fit.

They can keep both. Thompson is a restricted free agent, right?

I don't know if this was expected or if he is gone. But we do have a lot of Ohio natives (70% of the MSB), so I'm sure someone has the insider info

I feel this is the right move too. Move TT for more assets and keeping love should keep them coming out of the East and putting up a fight in the Finals.

I don't think he wants to be there and I'm not entirely sure they want him, either
Lebby was just saying rumors are that the entire team, Lebron included, wanted him back.

They don't need him. They could have won the championship this past season with wiggins

The Cavs GM outright said like a week ago that he was expecting Love to opt out

quote:

Cavs GM David Griffin expects Kevin Love to opt out of his current contract and re-sign with the Cavaliers.
Griffin didn't indicate what type of contract Love would be in search of on his next deal, but the GM is bracing for a busy summer with everything the Cavs have on their to-do list in free agency. While LeBron isn't going anywhere and Love has said he's staying, nothing is 100 percent until Love signs his name on the dotted line.

I think it's hilarious that the Cavs are going to throw max $ at an offensive rebounder because he has the same agent as LeBron.

Keeping Love and getting rid of TT is the correct play, too bad LeBron would throw a hissy fit.
It may be the Mother of all risks, but I think I'd call Lebron's bluff there.

Lebron will probably opt out then sit and wait til TT gets his contract, but I'd consider calling his bluff as I'm not so sure Lebron would actually leave CLE if they didn't offer TT max.

He's going to opt out, take a one year deal, and then get maxed when the salary cap moves up... right?

So Love is gonna sign a 1 year deal wherever he goes, right?

Wouldn't he be throwing away possibly a ton of money to sign long term this year, as opposed to next?

Sources: If Kevin Love goes forward with visits in July, expect Boston to sell him on pursuing group of Love, Robin Lopez and...Paul Pierce.

I just don't buy it. When has a big named free agent ever gone to Boston by choice?

I think Wiggins needed to get away from Lebron to flourish.
