Live Oak 14
Scotlandville 20

Live Oak played their patented bend but only kinda break defense and their offense hung in just long enough to keep it close, but so far away. Live Oak had the ball around midfield with 1:18 left, but an incredible acrobatic INT sealed it.

hashtag live oak shite

2 of the three drives Dunham had against the first team were sustained by penalties. For being a crummy team, Dunham sure talks a lot of smack. Looked like U-High decided to work on the passing game to practice for the playoffs, our last 2 games should be even bigger blowouts than the previous games. This was the strongest 2-A district top to bottom in the state only 2 years ago, this year it might be one of the weakest. We could just about name our score in all our district games. Shout out to my son for making the Friday Night Blitz highlights again tonight.

And Dunham helped push U High down the field with over 100 penalty yards. Not a whole lot of difference.

I don't how a U High parent can call out another's school team for trash talking though.

Also, I know no idea on overall enrollment, but that was definitely the largest I've seen of U High's everything. More kids on the football team, band, dance team, etc. Do you think y'all may move up to 3A? U High was the 3rd largest 2A at the last reclassification, iirc.

From what I understand, it's going to be close. We will probably get moved to 3-A about the same time Curtis elects to move up, and we'll still never win state.

And I can't ever remember our kids trash talking while they were having their asses handed to them. They are at least a little smarter than that.

Have fun with Parkview in your district. I'd be more worried about them in the near future.

and I guess you're talking about #32 (who actually had a pretty great game)? I couldn't see a direct instance of people getting in each others faces, but I didn't have the best view.

UHS can control what classification they want to be in.

I know sooooooo many ppl who sent their kids to CHS,SJA,ST MICH, REDEMPT, DUNHAM, PBS, etc etc b/c they couldnt get a spot at UHS

They've become increasing difficult to find, but I found a list of overall enrollment alphabetically LINK). Still looking for a split of divisions in order of highest to lowest.

#32 was the main offender. Doing a celebratory dance over someone you tackled after they just ripped off a 15 yard gain doesn't seem especially brilliant. My son just said that he was acting the fool when we destroyed their JV last year, so evidently the score of the game is immaterial to how he feels about things.

And I can promise you we would be more competitive with Parkview than with Curtis. Right now at least. I really wish we had gotten a shot at Curtis last year. We had a team that could run well enough to control some clock, and a pretty stout defense. And with 19 seniors the usual age disparity we have playing against their 19 year olds would have been diminished.

Well yes, right now. Curtis has possibly the best team they've ever had. I think it would be a good new rivalry to start in BR since Redemptorist is down.

And for 32, I understand your point. Dunham's D played very poorly (which is surprising considering they held VC's explosive offense to 20), but he was one of the few bright spots defensively. He's come a long way as a Sophomore. He started last year at Safety.

This is hilarious though.

99% sure UHS stays 2a. I would be pretty embarrassed if my kid stood up celebrating after making a tackle 8 yards down the field and giving up a first down.
