Early predictions:

1A: OCS by two TDs over Haynesville

4A: Neville by a touchdown over Karr

2A: Curtis doesn't get running clock, still beats Evangel by 30

3A: Parkview by 10

5A: Barbe 45-42. They are like the old Loyola-Marymount teams. You try to slow the game down, but they just don't let you.

Interesting note from the discussion in the semifinal thread. I was asking my son who the man talking to him on the field after the game was. He said this man approached him and asked him if he was a junior or senior. He told him he was a junior, and the guy launched into a spiel about what an awesome school ECA is, great tradition, great facilities, many championships, blah, blah, blah. Even asked what his Dad did for a living. But no, none of these schools recruit.

I know, tl

I'm sure that other schools do it. I'm just amused at those that suggested that the multiple huge offensive lineman ECA had this year that they didn't last year all happened to land in Shreveport all at the same time, and that others said other schools left in the finals don't recruit.

What did the paper say? Springfield dressed out 33 kids, Curtis 101 (out of a reported HS population of 300 some odd kids total).

Trust me U-High recruits also, maybe not to the level of Curtis or Evangel. Brossette, Williams, and many more! Brossette was trying to go to Central, but they couldn't make the move happen!

Soneone officially connected to a school Talking to a kid enrolled in another high school is very illegal

Usually parents or adults not officially connected to the school do that kind of stuff. Too much to lose for a coach or staffer to do that

Parents can get a school in a lot of trouble.......

And again there are schools with no state titles in the past ten years recruiting way more than Curtis

And it ain't the ones ya get that get you in trouble....but the ones that get away....or leave kicking and screaming,,,,

So 2 days later you come out with this story about your son after arguing about the big OL evangel had?

Ya nothing fishy about you just bringing that up now

He talked to the dude after I had left him. He got in at 4:00 AM, and I didn't talk to him again until last night. What's fishy about any of that? Doesn't change the fact that ECA had a huge offensive line that a Calvary parent said were brought in this year. I just repeated what I was told at the game. We didn't play ECA last year, so I can't say. I just know Calvary had a new QB from Texas because we did play them both years. I'm not driving to Shreveport to scout anyone, didn't like having to do it two weeks in a row when we were playing.

ETA: this was evidently the parent of a former player. Said something about the nice ring his kid had.

Can't wait to see the Neville vs Karr game. Going to be a slugfest.

They might be able to beat the champ of every class in ANY state.

since a couple of people have texted me..

best teams.. IMHO

in NO order

75 St aug
73 Capt Shreve
82 Ruston

Agree. I think Neville/Karr is a huge matchup. Maybe one of the best matchups in 4A in many years.

1991 Ruston should be on this list. They beat Catholic 52-10 in Dome. 10 players signed D1. Childress will tell you it was his best team he ever had.
