this is just discussing players who are either still playing, very recently retired, or semi recently retired. i think we can break these down into different groups

you have your sure thing, no questions asked, locks:

kobe
shaq
tim duncan
kevin garnett
lebron
steve nash
paul pierce
ray allen
dwade
dirk
jason kidd

your should make it, but arent 100% locks

pau gasol
tony parker
allen iverson
chris bosh
melo

players who are on their way and will make it unless something goes very wrong towards the end of their career

chris paul
kevin durant
dwight

then we have our borderline players

vince carter
tracy mcgrady
ben wallace
shawn marion
amare stoudemire
grant hill

which of our six borderline players are in?

If you were ever the best player in the league for an extended period of time you should get in. He was special.

From your list, Hill, McGrady, and Carter should be in. The others, no way. I hate Iverson, but he should be in. And Rasheed Wallace, no.

I don't think any of the borderline players belong.

carter never won anything. Either did TMac.

also I'd say Parker is a lock. And Ginobili will make it as well for his contributions to the international game.

Dwight is by no means heading to the hall for certain.

Iverson is a no question asked lock to make it.

Tony Parker probably should. Pau, Bosh and Melo i can't see making it. Maybe Pau and Bosh, certainly not Melo.

CP3 is on a track to be a lock, just on stats with his assists and steals.
If KD wins a championship, he's a no question lock

Cant see Dwight making it. What has he done?

Vince Carter should make it. He's top 6 all time in 3 pointers made, 40% career 3pt%, and he has the best dunk ever, and the best dunk contest ever, and is the best dunker ever.
Outside of Kobe/Shaq/Lebron, people will still remember specific things Vince did 20 years from now more than anyone else on this list of locks.

Wouldn't bother me if McGrady made it.

The rest are a hell no

Top 5 defensive center of all time
Best center in the league for a 5 year(conservative)period. Find me another player who was the best at his position for at least 5 years who isn't in the hall of fame.

Lolololol melo will easily make it.

And KD has to win a championship to get in??

The HOF isn't picked the same way the MSB picks best players. You don't need a championship to get in.
