What a costly mistake by Bill, he really blew this game. He had two opportunities to kick a FG but decides to go for it instead. Will he get roasted for this, or does he get a pass?

Absolutely stupid. Seattle chased a FG all game last week and ran out of time. I understand not kicking the one in 4th and 1, but there is. I excuse for not kicking the other one.

He had to plan as if he was never going to get back down to that end of the field.

It's an aggressive call and a risky one, but that's not why they lost the game. Their OL completely failed them today.

Marvin Lewis and Jim Caldwell got roasted when they did kick it.

It was a no brainer a FG would have accomplished nothing except worse field position

Oh no doubt. I was just shocked that he passed, especially the first time. There was still a ton of time left on the clock.

Correct call IMO.

The way the DEN defense was playing, there was no guarantee they could get back there 2 and 3 times. They eventually did, but it's easy to say that in hindsight.

FWIW, if he kicked 1 or even 2 of those FGs on the 1st 2 possessions and DEN gets a 1st down or 2 and kneels the game out, we would be getting the same posts started blasting Belichick's decision.

No coach anywhere would have kicked the 2nd field goal. But the decision to go for the first 4th down was a bad decision. He got baited into going for it when they picked up 9 yards on 3rd down.

It's just how sports is nowadays, we do wayyyyyy too much IMO to find blame immediately with everything.

Belichick would have gotten roasted if they lost no matter how he did it.

Bone head decision to not try a fg on the first fourth down at the 5:15 mark or so.Then he had to go for it after that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there around 5 mins left the first time? With the way Peyton was playing I was quite surprised that he didn't take the points there.

The missed XP caused all of this.

You're correct.

But if Brady never gets back down field to score and they lose 20-15, there certainly would be posts blasting Belichick for not going for the TD when he had the chance, that's all I'm saying.

What does the play of denver's defense have to do with the Pats getting the ball back?

I agree with going for it on 4th and 1, and I agree with initially going for it on the second 4th and 1.

However, once it became 4th and 6 he absolutely shoulda kicked it, and I said it at the time. Planning to not get the ball back is idiotic. Denver's O was doing absolutely nothing and Kubiak was so puckered up.

I said this, but I was thinking go for it at the time. Just being honest.

What does the Denver defense have to do with the chance that NE gets the ball back in position to score a TD?

You have to believe that in a 5 point game the Broncos would not have run the ball on 1st and 10 and 2nd and 9 their last possession. I wonder what they may have done if it was 7 points. That needed 2 point conversion played big in the Broncos offensive strategy.

Denver could pretend their hair was on fire, and it wouldn't matter. They had no running game, and a noodle at QB. No way they were milking the clock against that D.
