Yes he was. I think he had a 2 or 3 year run where only Dirk was better from 16-23 feet.

Lol always something for the haters to nick pick. He's 0-3 out of the paint this series and 9-17 one game at FT line But all of a sudden he is a horrible shooter. He's not great and it's not his strength. But he's average at worst. He's getting to run easy this series. Why shoot jump shots when you don't have too. 2nd best player of all time. Enjoy excellence. 10-0

Lebron"s skills as an offensive player:
1. passer
2. slasher/driver
3. post-up

4. mid range long range shooter

LBJ is a great player. H is more like Magic than MJ.
LBJ is a very good defender.

LBJ is not as good at scoring the ball at will like an Allen Iverson or MJ.

4. He's more explosive now than he's been in the last couple of years. David Thorpe was saying on a Lowe Post podcast the other day that his jumper is off because he's off-balance. His hips aren't in-line and his feet are landing in from of him because he's fading away on his shots. That has nothing to do with his physique and more to do with his lack of preparation because he's not a natural shooter like Durant. It's something he has to constantly work at and be in rythym to do consistently.

this makes a lot of sense

A lot of it may be a function of his improved endurance and simply being in better shape. He's never been in bad shape by any means but stamina is a big factor in settling for lazy jumpers and poor defense. James Harden is a prime example on the extreme end of this spectrum.

Pretty much, which in all honesty he has probably recognized and realized his own limitations. It's a part of greatness. He's now doing what he should have always been doing with Love and Kyrie letting them do some more of the heavy lifting scoring (or at least trying to score).

i think he's over the "proving he can improve" era of his career

going back to cleveland probably lifted a lot of self-induced or perceived pressure

plus his team has better pure shooters around him now

i guess he's just done putting in that time for his J and is focusing on other areas. looks like he's posting up more

The scoring argument is a little puzzling to me as somehow he's become underrated in that regard. It's a narrative fallacy. Lebron has a higher career ppg than Kobe and Iverson, who were both low-efficiency volume shooters. He doesn't score in the same way, but he's actually 5th all-time in career ppg.

He's always had that sort of off-balance look on his J.
