Pistol Pete played against no one. Stockton played against Isaiah and Magic and AI and all kinds of athletic types.

Stockton is the starting point guard on the all-time team IMO.

Between 1970 and 1980 there were no high level players in the NBA other than Pistol Pete? I find this very difficult to believe.

Pistol Pete was one of the greatest college basketball players of all time, but is generally regarded as a great, but underwhelming professional player.

Pistol Pete was the greatest white basketball player to ever play on any level.

I didn't know the NBA put underwhelming players in their Top 50.

Maravich was a volume scorer with an incredible amount passing flair, who only once led the NBA in scoring. In a twelve year career, his teams only made the playoffs four times, and one of those was as a benchwarmer on the 1980 Celtics. He never once made the NCAA tournament as a college player.

Greatest college scorer yes, not college basketball's best player.

Last time I checked Bird played against Jordan from 84-92.
