I'm not sure what you are talking about. The system is pretty flawless. There are no lights but only cameras strategically set up around the stadium.

You literally just linked a video with fricking lights in it

You talking about the little red light in center field? If they use the ear piece for the home plate ump, then there is no need for that light.

For the fans. For redundancy. You are now arguing a completely different point.

I'm not really trying to argue. Do you genuinely think the small red light in center field will detract from the game? It's no different than all the video boards, score boards, Radar guns, etc. I'm curious as to why it is such a big deal?

The number of female umpires would go through the roof.

Based off of your graph, it's really easy to tell which swings were Javy's.

One of the color guys said on his last K that he wondered if Statgraphs could tell if that was the highest pitch ever swung at

I swear a one guy told me...I think he may swing at a pick-off throw to first before it's over.

almost every actual ball was called a ball, but lots of strikes were called ball in the lower third

Where’s the one that was 2 feet outside to Rizzo

Next to the pitch Wade Davis made in the 8th that was called a ball but was right down the middle.

The zone was way too tight...I feel like it's shrunk all throughout the playoffs on purpose to increase scoring.

That is a pretty good indication on why it was a nine and a half hour game.

The day strikes and balls are automated is the day I stop watching baseball.

Why? Did you stop watching when they started instant replay?

No, but if you take out human called balls/strikes the human error in baseball is completely gone.

If you eliminate a human determined strike zone the game turns into a massive advantage for the hitters. You really think that professionals, who already are hitting record home runs, if given an absolute strike zone wouldn't master that thing in a season or two?

Pitchers, no matter how great, would get lit the frick up.

I also enjoy the strategy behind a human strike zone. It forces hitters or pitchers to adjust and adds another element into the game.
