No one denies that Harden is one of the best offensive players in the game. No one.

I'm not sure why you can't be intellectually honest and acknowledge his shortcomings at the same time. Oh wait, its because you are trolling and are an alter of another poster here. Got it.

I'd say Harden gets about as much out of himself as possible how many players in the history of the NBA have averaged:

29pts
7ass
6reb

Go ahead and name them out.

Basketball isn't played on paper.

When Bill Simmons and Zeke agree on something it must be a universal truth.

That's a huge gap to close, Boom. 7.5 games?

I've got a couple issues with James but I'll still defend him here because he's one of my guys. I'm a clutch city guy as is James so I got his back.
Kinda like if someone is talking about one of your friends or family members and they ain't either one of them. You gonna defend the person no matter what to a hating arse outsider.

Also, there could be litte kids out there reading these threads and thinking that James isn't an elite player I gotta set the record straight so that Little Johnny doesn't grow up with a warped sense of what makes an elite basketball player.

6.5 I reckon. Memphis has lost to Phoenix twice in the last week. To be frank any game they win from now to seasons end will be a little bit of a surprise with the lineup they are putting out there.

For the record, this is the kind of stuff that Rockets fans bitch about and then the national media guys are like "Rockets fans are so sensitive!!"

Harden dropped 40 pts with 14 assists and won the game against a really good Raptors team, and the only thing that gets talked about is one play where he gave poor effort to avoid fouling out of the game.

This wouldn't happen if it wasn't a nightly occurence for James.

So anyone who objectively critiques him is a hater? That's very millennial of you.

We all know he's not the best defensive player. But even still, it gets overblown because people condense hours and hours of game tape into little minute long videos of low-lights.

You could do the same for just about every player.

Yes, Harden may have a few more plays with poor effort because we all know he's not the best defensive player.

But even still, it's a complete hack job for this one play to be making the rounds with no mention that he dropped 40 and 14 and won the game and no context to explain that he was avoiding a foul so he would not foul out of the game. That is what is annoying for Rockets fans.

Not a single top 10 player in the NBA right now has that many "lapses" on defense, even if you went through every game of their career. That is why he gets so much grief.

Being a bad defender is one thing, giving 0 effort multiple times is equivalent to the 10 second footage of Anthony Bennett on offense.

I can't believe you actually spent the time to search and copy and paste all of those GIFs.

Harden does it more. But all players have these lapses.

Most people just don't pay much attention when it's other players.

Before that viral video came out highlight (or lowlighting) Harden's defense, nobody paid much attention to Harden on that side of the ball.

Then all-of-a-sudden, it's now become cool to hate and make little vine videos of every single lapse he has on defense.

Other players aren't scrutinized like that.

Dude Harden has been slammed for his defense for years.

Not like this. Look, I think I would know. Being a fan of the Rockets I know exactly when it all started.

Harden was known for not being a great defender in the same way Kyrie Irving is known for not being a great defender.

But how often do you see people constantly posting low-light vines of Irving's defense? How often do people hate on Kyrie and bring up his defense over and over again?

It's not often. We all know Kyrie is a bad defender, but he doesn't get the same level of scrutiny that Harden does.

I know when this all started, so don't act like Harden has always been criticized at this level.
