The Brooklyn Dodgers though are not defunct, they just moved to LA.
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:20 pm to sms151t
but they are. they no longer exist. the dodgers still exist. but the brooklyn dodgers dont
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:21 pm to WestCoastAg
But they do, as any Brooklyn record broke in LA is considerred a franchise record.
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:23 pm to sms151t
because the dodger franchise is intact. what happened in brooklyn carries over to LA but that doesnt mean the brooklyn dodgers still exist

When The Browns moved from Cleveland moved to Baltimore did they become defunct????
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:25 pm to WestCoastAg
So are the Colts defunct?
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:25 pm to dukke v
for the purpose of talking about the franchise that was in the city and no longer is? sure. i would have happily made the title of this thread "any defunct or franchise that moved" but you cant really fit that in the title
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:26 pm to sms151t
the baltimore colts? sure. they no longer exist
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:29 pm to sms151t
what about them? they exist and have been in the same metropolitan area their whole existence
Posted on 3/10/16 at 2:31 pm to WestCoastAg
But they are no longer the California Angfels so they must be defunct.
So I guess we just consider what you think defunct as defunct.

That's a weird situation because the city of Cleveland got to keep all the history and stats and everything. I think Seattle did the same thing regarding the Sonics.

It is the exact same thing,
They kept the name, records, and franchise, and the Angels have moved also.

They don't have a gold tab on their jerseys for the title the Sonics won in the 70s.

It is the exact same thing,

Flipped? No just showing you were you are wrong in the wording of the topic.
Your premise is right, I give you that, but wording is wrong. Why else would I not attack a HYC member?

Actually they were the Los Angeles Angels first.
