but come the frick on with that developing talent thing
Look at players like Anthony Davis and KAT. These dudes werent anything special on the offensive end. Calipari had people comparing Anthony Davis to Theo Ratliff. The best thing for them was getting as far away from Calipari as possible.

It is a truly frightening level of lunacy

Im just saying. Look at Johnny Jones, he takes 4 star players like Jordan Mickey and develops them into NBA players. I like Caliparis 4 star players at Memphis and you dont know who most of these dudes are outside of Chris Douglas Robinson.

AD won about every award imaginable and a tournament.
Cal's been praised over and over again for forcing KAT to bring his game more inside to develop that part of his game. KAT basically hung around the perimeter coming out of high school. Okafor was considered the consensus #1 heading in to that season and now KAT is having one of the best rookie seasons in a very long time.
Devin Booker was basically a mid 20's-30's recruit and he already looks like a future all-star in PHX.

He mightve been the greatest defensive player Ive seen in college. Offensively, he was terrible.

Yea, my intelligence level is based on what other people said.

No he wasn't.

Highly efficient offensive weapon (13.8 PPG, 65% FG) ... Predominantly an off-the ball target, cleaning up on alley-oops both off the pick and roll and dribble hands offs ... Few passes are out of reach, seemingly able to elevate as high as required. RUNS the court ... While not necessarily a power finisher, his explosiveness of the deck is effortless ... Capable of mid-air body adjustments on errant passes ... Displays the body control to hang and alter release to finish through a bump ... His jump shot form is aesthetically pleasing (71% FT), and its effectiveness certainly can be cultivated with work and experience ... Shows glimpses of pick and pop aptitude ... Bullet outlet passes are a major strength ... Can handle the ball in space with occasional facilitation of the offense, and does not appear limited to straight line drives ... Commits under a turnover per game as a freshman big, highlighting his guard skills ... Still only 18 years of age, Davis grew 7 inches (6’3-6’10) between his HS junior and senior seasons ... Dynamic versatility at both ends of the floor makes for boundless potential ...

DJ30 is a good poster and intelligent enough. He's just misguided here.

AD scoring consisted of alleys or put backs while at kentucky.

Yea, Camby and KG were the ones mentioned most, but Theo Ratliff was mentioned also.

When a guy scores about 70% of his shots in the paint, you are going to try to get him as many looks there as possible.

Yeah he was compared to a HOF who had a deadly midrange game. Wonder where that came from

No one can deny that Cal's best coaching asset is his recruiting. His other abilities just don't hold a candle to it.
We can all name several other coaches that are better at Xs and Os, developing, in-game adjustments, etc.. but everyone knows he is tgoat recruiter the last decade or so

His highschool film. Go watch AD film from Kentucky. He was not a skilled offensive player there.
Hell, they had people saying saying Thomas Robinson was going to be a better NBA player.

Seriously blows my mind that some of you think he just rolls the ball out there. They had the best offense in the country with basically 2 guards carrying the entire load this season.
Developing? Seriously? Ulis was projected as a 4 year player and will probably be a first rounder after year 2. I've already brought up Booker from last year's team, but WCS was also a mid-40's recruit who he turned in to a top 10 pick.

No Thomas Robinson said this. AD was about of pick of a lock to go #1 as we have had in recent years. People were talking about him possibly elevating the Pels to a 50 win team in his first season.
Where in god's name are you coming up with this stuff?

We can play that game all day. You're really coming off extremely biased here
