Why was the bar updated in 2010?

ETA -- I now see they briefly reopened it in 2010-11, which I guess explains why the concourse looks pretty clean.

They did some upgrades to the Silverdome trying to get a MLS team as a last ditch effort to save it.

You can laugh at Detroit and the Detroit Metropolitan Area but it has more money than New Orleans and Baton Rouge combined and it is still home to the American Automotive industry and a center of high technology manufacturing and built new baseball and football stadiums and will be building a new hockey arena.

Sure it's not the nicest place to live but lets remember Katrina didn't completely clean up New Orleans and Louisiana is still a corrupt state that is one of the poorest and least educated states in the country. Michigan beats Louisiana on every level of health and well-being and education so let's not rip into other places before looking closely at where you live or where you used to live.

I used to live in Louisiana and I will be the last person to criticize another city and state.

Michigan has some very beautiful areas. I flew into Detroit a few years ago and drove up to Sarnia, Ontario. I enjoyed the drive. However, on the way back I got stuck in traffic just outside of Detroit and was afraid I was going to miss my flight. I decided to get off the interstate and to try and find a short cut. Probably not the smartest thing I have done. I was amazed how abandoned the areas of the city were that I could see. Michigan should figure out a way to sell Detroit to the Canadians and be rid of it. Not dogging the whole state, but unfortunately Detroit pretty much fit the stereotypes from what I saw. Like I said, the rest of the state I saw was beautiful.

Those pictures remind me of the Sarajevo winter Olympic venue pictures in ruins.
