I posted this question earlier this year and was laughed at..they have 111 of their last 112 games. Seemed like i the 1990s you at least had UCONN, Tennessee, and La. Tech. Early 2000s gave you LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford...but now, there is UCONN. I mean, they are winning a Sweet 16 game by 67 points. My God!

And look, I understand women's sports have less depth than men's, but this is unseen even in other women's sports.

Is there any sport that has been this dominated over a 5-10 years than this? They have on all of those games by at least 10 points. They have 87 by at least 25 points. They have won 53 by over 30. Their backups are better than any other team.

They have even tried to increase women's basketball awareness with their new video games. WNBA Live

Probably not, but at the same time comparing dominance in women's BBall to other sports is a joke. It's pretty obvious at this point that there is very little good talent in women's basketball and it's pretty much getting funneled into one school.

The best thing that happened to Geno at UConn was Pat Summit's decline.

I think the only one right now who will even have an outside shot of making a dent will be Dawn Staley at South Carolina and it's going to take awhile.

North Carolina Women's Soccer won 15 national championships from 1979-1999. They had a 442-17-11 record over that time span.

I appreciate you posing that! I was thinking of UNC soccer when I asked the question but did not know how far back that dominance went to.

They won 21 championships over a 30 year period. And finished runner-up in 3 of those years they didn't win it all.

UCLA men's basketball won 10 national titles in 12 seasons from 1964 to 1975. 7 straight from 1967 to 1973.

I don't know what thier record was during that time, but they had some insane win streaks so I'm sure it's something ridiculous.

UCONN isn't close to UCLA yet

UCONN won 10 in 20 years

UCLA won 10 in 12 years

Nobody cares, primarily because the talent pool in WBB is tiny and what little there is still isn't very good. Basketball is just not a sport women were meant to play.

UCONN would get run out of the building by a good Texas 6A high school men's team. If the men pressed all game the women might not score.

I think their Ski team is pretty good, too. FYI ULL's only naty are in skiing as well 6 times. so that's 32/36 to UL schools. Is it because its a sport you can compete in drunk?

Notre Dame could beat their backups.

but your point is well taken.

You look at the roster, Geno is getting the pick of the nation. Girls are coming from sunny california to play in the snow.

335-22 over that period (1963 - 1977) with 12 of those losses coming in the 2 years they didn't win the title.

From 66/67 to 72/73 they were 205-5 with 3 undefeated seasons. 1 in 66-67 and 2 in 71-72 & 72-73.

I think this is the most impressive run by any team

Didn't the Celtics win like 8 NBA titles in a row at one point? I'm not sure if it was that many. If I'm wrong, please let me know, but I know that the Celtics did win a bunch in a row for sure.

Wasn't the tournament 32 teams back then and you only got invited if you won the conference? You could finish 2nd and not even go? How many modern day men's champs would have been ineligible for the NCAA tournament? That's what's impressive.

And players were ineligible to play freshman year, right?

LSU women won the ncaa in track 1987-1997. Arkansas men won indoor track 1984-1995 and 1997-2000. Those are dominant.
