All it says is first coach to be fired, it doesn't say when.

Right, but hiring good coordinators isn't a negative, that's their job.

It doesn't say anything about the season, plus camp is over now and practice has started so I think this counts.

Why the HELL do you fire the coach one week before the season starts? Did the AD find him sitting with the whole team in the locker room drinking 40s and passing blunts? I mean honestly WHAT would you have to do to get fired one week before the season starts??

It really makes no sense to me why Illinois is terrible. I'm sure they have plenty of incredible high school players out in the corn fields, and they have a frick ton of Chicago money.

Any school is a bad coach away from being terrible. Unfortunately for Illinois, they've had a string of several shitty head coaches.
