Final Fours

NBA All Star Games
Sugar Bowl every year
There's been something big in town every year recently. Both ATL and NO are very good locations for hosting sports. No other way to cut it. I don't think you can say one is clearly a better sports town- in terms of hosting- than the other.
Atlanta has those too.

Maybe you should look up final fours and tournament games hosted before you spout off about it

I was saying those are other major events New Orleans hosts regularly. I wasn't comparing them to the number of them Atlanta has hosted at all, just countering the inane notion that all New Orleans has to offer are Super Bowls.
But since you mentioned it...New Orleans has hosted 5 Final Fours to Atlanta's 4? So what was your point again? Since you were spouting off about something?

Atlanta has 2020 already set though. And wayyyy more early rounds/regionals.
But yeah fair point that it's not just Super Bowls. Thought you were comparing

I meant that the only thing NO has on Atl is the amount of SBs hosted. My mistake.

Those growth lines all look pretty similar. Dallas and Atlanta have both roughly tripled (1.2 to 3.6 and 1.4 to 4.2), and Denver is close behind (.8 to 2.1). Seattle has also more than doubled (1.1 to 2.4). All of those cities have better sports reps than Atlanta.
And straight growth doesn't take into account the "transplants." I would guess DC has the most turnover of any city in the country b/c of the politicians and their staffs changing every few years.
I still don't see Atlanta as exceptional in those regards, but you are free to have your opinion.

I told you that the growth of Atlanta was abnormal. I showed you the proof, you discredit it. You even got to cherry the exact cities. Out of curiosity, what is it that you think makes people in this city less likely to support the teams? That we have too many other things to do? Is it the water?
ETA: all the cities you listed are exceptional in their growth. Don't mean to come off as rude, but i don't understand the thought process of looking at those numbers and not saying "well yeah that does show what he is saying"

I have no problem giving NOLA the edge for hosting. Atlanta is certainly not as fun a destination. We're probably still pretty close for hosting purposes, but for different reasons (Atlanta is central and easy, NOLA is fun). But to me that is like saying Vegas has more conventions and conferences, so it's a better business city than Atlanta.
