you don't get it. there is a lot more to SuberBowl week festivities than just "tailgating"

did you see how many shows went live all week from New Orleans (both TV and radio)?

the NFL fan experience? the special concerts all week long? all pregame and postgame shows?

I'm not saying you are completely wrong, but you are over simplifying it by just repeating "I like to watch football games and grill in the cold, therefore a cold superbowl is AWESOMES!!1!" over and over

re: I hope next years Super Bowl is about 10 degrees
I've only been to one NFL game(in CLE), but I've been to plenty of college games(including at the Dome) and its towards the bottom for me.

I like being outside

ETA: The city was great, which is a large part of this, but per the venue for the game itself... *see above*

Why do people want the Super Bowl to fail?

I don't want it to fail, and really don't mind it being in a city that will have colder weather. My main problem is the Meadowlands are in the middle of nowhere. It seriously takes 2-3 hours to get back to civilization after a game.

You probably like 10AM kickoffs too

Never been to one.

I hate noon games though, if that's what you're asking.

As a casual fan, what does it matter if it takes 2-3 hours to get back after the game?

It's just an inconvenience. You go to a game there and wait out in the freezing rain for hours to get out of Jersey. It would change your opinion too

i know there is and it will be awesome in nyc

yes and they had no problem doing it in Detroit

i wonder how many people here have been to NYC in the winter? nothing shuts that city down other than a hurricane

If my team won, I couldn't care less honestly. And if my team lost, I'd be pissed regardless.

I see the point. And in a perfect world every city would be situated like NOLA. But they aren't. And the Super Bowl will never have a permanent host (which I agree with). So might as well give each city a shot. Just my opinion.

The people talking about the weather affecting the SB week are completely wrong, there have been multiple SB's in Detriot, they've been in Minnesota, Indianapolis and even southern cities have had terribly cold weather during SB week. I've been to Mardi Gras's where it was miserably cold. The issue is if the weather affects the game. Talk of FB was meant to be played in the elements is a silly cliche. This is the SB and there is a reason they play it at neutral sites either in the south or indoors.

maybe we are just so used to perfect weather for the big game. Its time for a change b/c the game is meant to be played in all types of weather. The NFL championships of old used to be played in brutal cold weather. :oldmanfootball:

After last night, I'm convinced all Saints fans don't really know what football is, or it's history. They have a dome, and their temps never get below forty degrees outside anyway. Pampered and a bit delusional.

this all started when Flacco said it was an awful decision to hold the game in Jersey

no matter how you slice it, it is risky to hold the Super Bowl in a cold weather city not in a dome. hopefully it all goes well

The weather will definitely be cold and that sucks for the people paying to go see it

But the parties will be on another level in NYC

1) The SuperDome was built because you need AC in the deep south in the summer/ fall, not to protect the fans from cold in the winter.

2) A Superbowl event/extravaganza and the 2 weeks leading up to it, is 10 times more intense than that of a Sugar Bowl or even a BCS Champ game.

The only issue will be for the 80K watching it in the stands for 3.5 hours. They've hosted Super Bowls in Detroit, Minneapolis, Indy and they still have all the pomp and exciting pregame festivites as the other ones.

People on here are just bitter because New Orleans/Super Dome are (rightfully) the butt of every joke.

they had major issues at several of those events due to weather.
