Do you know how easy it is to reverse engineer a golf club?
So why did Rory struggle with the switch? Yes I think Nike can do a pretty good job of mimicking. But unless they have the exact designer with his exact plans and specifications, the clubs will differ slightly.

"I tweeted right from when I heard the news, that this is dangerous," Nick Faldo, an early critic of McIlroy’s decision to ditch the Titleist gear that propelled him to the top of the world rankings and two world championships in favor of Tiger Woods’ favored brand, said Friday night during Golf Channel’s “State of the Game” roundtable. "I said, ‘This is a very dangerous thing because you don't want to mess with your confidence, your trust in your equipment.’”

quote:

"It's very dangerous like you say. I went through the same thing," said Miller, the owner of two major titles. "I decided to switch and I switched everything. And I mean, I was like a fish out of water, I was gasping for air....So the minute I heard that he was going to switch everything, I'm thinking, 'Wow, that's a gamble.'"
So if NIKE can literally make the exact same club, why are Miller and Faldo out of the loop?

I could see Nike making a huge push for Speith

Let's hope this isn't the case. After seeing how long it took Rory to get used to those shite Nike clubs, no telling how long it will take young Jordan. He's playing with arguably the best set of equipment on tour. A drastic change over to that inferior brand will do nothing but harm for his career.

Rory would have at least 3 more majors if he would have stayed with Titleist, and for Tiger, at least 7 if he stayed with Mizuno and Titleist.

UnderArmour has hit it big with Brady, Curry and Speith. Also very huge in the baseball market with people like Bryce Harper.

They have some good hunting gear as well. Especially for bow hunters.

I am not sure but a 65 year old that works for me used to wear short sleeve button downs and all of a sudden he just started wearing UA polos. I swear he must have gone out and bought 25-30 of them. He has on a different one everyday.

speith has already said he will never sign on with anyone who will make him change to that specific brand. rory got a huge payday by nike but he had to change to nike equipment.

LOL! It will take a buyout for my brand to be on a flat bill.

please make a dry-fit type hat that is unstructured. Nobody fricking does this and it is ruining my headwear life.
I was complaining about this recently. All my hats are cotton and get soaked through with sweat and are gross after just a few rounds. I finally found a Titleist hat that is made of moisture wicking material. I don't know why all hats aren't made of that stuff.

They really have. That is a great market they went after. No one in the sports apparel industry has taken on that before, at least with this success. Fishing wear is huge as well

That was my point. The clubs Tiger is playing are custom made to his specifications. Nike isn't giving him a driver on its way to Dick's.

Where I think it makes the biggest difference is in the balls. Nike's 20XI balls were shite and really opened the door for Taylormade to get some market share. If I'd of had to switch from a pro v1 to a 20xi, I'd of been pretty pissed.

Yeah, I wasn't responding to you.

The balls are different. ProV1x is the GOAT and I don't play anything else.

Noted. Good info to have. I own a Nike dry fit type hat and it is both cool(temp) and comfortable. Might make all of my first offering of hats like that.

r Armour has much better clothing than Nike. Nike looks like they only sell neon crap.

UA's material quality is second to none. You have to wear it to compare and feel the differnece. If you have an athletic build nothing fits better....like a glove. Typically that's why old guys don't like it, it's not a good fit on flab, and the name is too new. Oh and not to mention the stuff dries immediately and doesn't smell. Heaven sent for the active sweater. And the underwear will change your life...literally.

I could see them teaming up with a equipment manufacturer to rebrand their name on some stuff and making that investment in the very near future.
