Yea but in my fixing 101 class I know learned that you fix nationally televised games in order to build up rivalries and potential postseason drama.

Well said man. It's hard to deny that evidence.

Officials have complete control of the game. They control the ebb and flow, they can establish or kill momentum and ultimately decide the winner.

I don't think they receive a direct order from the commish but I do think that they know very clearly what the expectations are.

I can't tell you many games I've watched in which one team was being called for an excessive amount of fouls or penalties but after the outcome is basically decided the fouls and penalties suddenly balance out in the final box score.

Players make too much money to be on the take. You can't get THAT much down on a basketball game.
Refs on the take wouldn't surprise me.

There's no doubt about it that games are rigged, fixed, or whatever term you want to use. There's too much money on the line with the books for sports to be pure.

I don't think sports are "rigged", but it's hard to be 100% certain that it never happens
