No one cares about Cincy in these places, their football stadium seats like 30,000 people. and doesn't even fill up.

They routinely sell out their season tickets..

Put them in a P5 conference and interest would increase in droves

Cleveland is almost 4 hours from cincy so nice try

WVU is 45mins from Pittsburgh and is part of the Pittsburgh tv market.

The SEC has a network, the Big 12 doesn't, that's the difference. Adding Cinci does nothing but water down the league.

Decent basketball school though.

that will change the second the GOR runs out

meh, I doubt the Big 12 even exists once the GOR runs out. In the meantime no need to add Cinci, it's not like they're going to stabilize the conference.

what's going to happen? You actually think Texas is going to go independent? You think theyll drop the LHN and join another conference? I highly doubt it. The argument is whether or not adding cincy would have been better for the big 12 than WVU and I think it would, at the bare minimum, be a wash

The entire state of Ohio is Ohio States market.

Cincy isn't getting the Cleveland market for football

People said the same thing about a&m only being able to carry the Houston market. Still didn't matter. The whole state carries the network at an market price. I would be surprised if anything different happened in this case

Only a WVU fan would argue otherwise.

Big 12 goofed by adding them and not Cincy.

How? WVU is better in every aspect from football/basketball program, larger fan base, better facilities, etc.

If Cinci was worth adding a P5 conference would have scooped them up by now

it seats 40k and it was full last night vs Miami on a Thursday night.

Cincy actually has a better chance of eventually getting into the SEC than WVU does

For how much you think you know about them it seems like you dont know much if you didn't realize they played all last year in the Bengals stadium while they were completing their renovation/expansion of Nippert.

I didn't know Nippert renovated. They needed it, that place is a shite hole.

Either way, Cinci still doesn't need to be in the Big 12, and it wouldn't be wise to add them.

Cincinnati would have done way more for the Big 12 then WVU. Getting into the state of Ohio for recruiting alone would have been huge. Cincinnati just has more potential if you ask me. Now, im not saying that WVU isnt worthy because quite frankly, they should both be in the Big 12. Cincinnati also has great basketball tradition. I still think Cincy ends up in a P5. There is just too much potential there. Listen, Cincy didnt just spend millions of dollars expanding their stadium. They want P5 status, and sooner or later, somebody is going to add them...along with schools like BYU, UConn, Memphis, Navy, Boise St and Colorado St.

Anyone want to explain why the B12 doesn't add Cincy?

Much better addition than West Virginia

Cincinnati made a lot of money the past two years staying where they were. The total buyouts&payouts from the Big East came to over $110 million. The Catholic schools kept the name and $10 million.

UCONN, South Florida, and Cincinnati split the remaining $100 million between themselves.
