I dont get how people can shite in today’s game while glorifying the guys like Byrd and Jordan who’s game would have still fit perfectly because they could shoot.
and MJ didn’t drill 3s but we know he’s efficient enough a 2 point shooter that he would still be allowed to do his thing.
but Byrd would be taking 13 3s a game now.
but what stood out for both of them was their shooting ability compared to the rest of the league.
so we’re upset more people can shoot?

NBA solved this problem a decade ago. Now if you would say too many review stoppages at the end of the game I would agree with you.

You can’t. The NBA sucks for the exact same reason that public education is failing across America. The root of that problem is irreversible.

They do a terrific job at NBA arenas keeping the crowd engaged. My kids love Spurs games. My wife isn't even a huge sports fan, but she jumps at the opportunity to go to the Frost Bank Center.

It's the nostalgia factor kicking in for most people complaining, honestly.
DeMar DeRozan (ironically enough, given his current team), is essentially a carbon copy of MJ's offensive game (seriously, you can go frame by frame with so much of his stuff, it's uncanny), but I hardly ever hear curmudgeons sing his praises.
At the end of the day, I use such whiners as personal reminders to disallow myself from becoming the same as my kids come of age and learn to love this beautiful game. I'm in my mid-30s. Old enough to have watched the greats of the 90s (David Robinson and Reggie Miller were my two favorite players as a kid, and the reason I still pull for the Spurs and Pacers to this day, even though Manu Ginobili eventually became my favorite player ever), but young enough to have seen/felt the game morph in real time as both a fan and an avid intramural player myself. The last thing I want is for my enjoyment of those early 00's - mid '10s Spurs teams to obfuscate my appreciation for the greats of today. I don't want my love for Ginobili's game to dampen my son's love for Wembanyama's prowess, or for him to think I have to shite on his heroes just because they're younger than mine.
Basketball is, ultimately, a love language for me. Best thing older fans can do is pass that passion down as the game evolves.

Change the three point line so there isn't that little 3 point section near the corner at all. It changes the spacing of the entire game. You won't have guys that set a screen then go hang out there wide open waiting for the ball.

1. Move the 3 point line back 3 feet and eliminate corner 3s.
2. Start calling traveling and carrying.
3. Stop calling touch fouls.
4. Stop catering to star players.
5. Allow unlimited successful challenges.
6. Stop forcing quotas on hiring for officials.
7. Increase the minimum number of games to qualify for awards to 70.
8. Stop scheduling back to backs.
9. Fire the training staff who thinks load management works.
10. Fine players who sit when healthy.

Guys would just stop going to the corner entirely. I’m not sure all the knock on effects that would have (I’m guessing a lot of bad ones) but offensive sets would definitely look weird

Make holding legal again.
So many Lakers-Celtics highlights in the 80s and everyone is tearing at Bird's jersey.
Basically, what I'm saying is make players, WORK for their damn shot....because right now its easy-peazy rec league bullshite.
