There's really no doubt that players from certain countries dive more than others. I do expect that makes up for a bit of the difference.

How'd you come to this conclusion? Much like any other sport that relies on athleticism, the women would be completely destroyed by the men. It's not close at all.

The closest sports women could maybe compete with men are sports like golf.

But it is the same sport. Most women's sports make some changes for the women.

I enjoyed this womens WC. I dont think it's better quality than the men's, but when they got to the knockout rounds, the quality was pretty good and the matches were competitive and fun to watch.

Games were definitely fun to watch. But where I watched most of the games Copa America games were on side by side. Men play an entirely different game I only make this comment for the guy that said it's a closer gap than basketball.

The only reason I could think anyone would list soccer is because the diving. The men's game is so much better in terms of athleticism and skill.

It isn't close. Usually when people say this they haven't watched enough men's soccer to really appreciate how huge the gulf is between the two.

I think women soccer players are tougher than men soccer players a lot of time and you don't see all the flopping shite.

This is incredibly wrong.

You get comments like this about soccer from people who never played the game or watched elite men's on a regular basis. Their main exposure to the sport was from daughters or sisters or girlfriends playing. So there just isn't the easy comparison there is for a sport like basketball.

The women play in sand compared to the men, especially in the final third

women's tennis is better because they actually break serve

Women's holds are like men's breaks.

Women's tennis for sure. The men's game has much less rallying because of the power men have and the difficulty of returning serves.

do you even watch tennis?

Can't agree there. The only time the women go to the net is to shake hands. Long points aren't great if they are just long points. I agree women's tennis is also fun to watch, but men's game has more variety of play, and there are still very good net players in the game.

Having watched some of the women's world cup, there are likeable aspects to women's soccer. One being they seem to be so bad at clearing the ball up the pitch, which means attacks tend to flow between pressure and counter rather than quick passing, hoof, rebuild from back, move breaks down, hoof - which I'm accustomed to in English soccer, and they never ever seem to break into head tennis. Practically no route one stuff at all. Their control and first touch is reasonable too, and the games seemed open as hell. The general level of play is lower overall but the matches were still watchable.

World Cup

Idk about EPL or regular soccer, but the men's World Cup just has so much flopping and faking, it goes against all my sensibilities of what sports and manliness should be. It's a travesty.

sorry soccer fans, ib4 a barrage of nba flopping gifs
