But I can already tell you're the type that thinks you know what you're talking about with soccer, so you're more than welcome to keep your ignorant opinion.
Actually I'm the type that got into the last three World Cups in earnest, couldn't stand all the flopping, and came away with a very common observation that bothers you

only thing i can think of is people watching mens tennis when plenty of them are serve and volley type players. that can get boring for some.

i cant think of one sport where id rather watch the women than the men. even things like billiards, where the playing field is about as even as it can be, the men's skill level is just that much better

Those people must have quit watching in 1999 The style of play is pretty much non-existent even in men's tennis now

yea for sure. that was a big gripe with the mens game when i was watching and playing tennis. all serve and volley and the points lasted a few seconds. hell, thats how i was taught how to play. get to the net as fast as you can.

It happens no more often than in basketball. The dramatic embellishment annoys me, but not really flopping (in most cases).

It happened more often in that last World Cup Final than in any basketball game. Also, the basketball flopping shite started when Euro soccer players brought it over. If it gets as bad as soccer, I will quit watching.

Uh, those would be basketball players. Not soccer players.

It's also becoming fairly common in football.

They grew up playing soccer.

Maybe it's European culture, and not soccer culture. IDK. But it's real, and it does soccer fans no good to get all defensive and act like it's not.

Know how I know you're straight up full of shite? LINK Here's a tidbit for you:

quote:

That flag, planted in the battle against flops, would be the high point of our increasingly morally decayed NBA. The ’80s would bring more flopping, from Bill Laimbeer, from Worm Rodman.

Okay. And I don't like it. It goes against my American ideal of what sports and manliness should be. It is the most unsporting thing I can imagine. I can't fricking stand it.

An article with facts that directly go against what you say. But like I said, your ignorant self will keep saying ignorant things. Your mind isn't open to anything else. Carry on.

My mind is open. Your mind is not open to the idea that my mind was totally open and I didn't like what I saw.

I have no problem with selling a foul (one that really did happen). You'd have to be an idiot not to unless it's to your advantage to play through it.

I have no issue with you not liking what you see. My issue is you act like that gif that was posted is common place. It isn't. Using it as your out for not liking soccer is a cop out. SO unless you're ready to stop liking the NBA (NFL is starting to get some ridiculous flops too), then just say you don't like soccer. It's Ok. No need to give a halfbaked excuse for it.
