At least with baseball, teams can watch pitch f/x and analyze the umpires, so when Angel Hernandez comes to town, they know a tiny strikezone is in order (just pulling a name, no idea if he's actually large or small).

Somewhat. The pass-happy offenses have made it annoying. I miss the running games that once dominated the NFL.

I'm glued to the Red Zone for Noon and Afternoon games. I'll only watch SNF and MNF if it's a big fantasy showdown or the Saints are playing.

I know there is a large collection of people who think "fantasy football is killing the NFL,"

Who thinks that? Fantasy football has been primarily responsible for the (revenue) growth of the league over the last 10-15 years. It has been HUGE for the NFL. I quit playing fantasy football 5+ years ago, and have now virtually abandoned the NFL.

I don't enjoy the style of play relative to 10+ years ago. It is too easy to throw the ball and there are too many silly penalties.

The other thing that has pushed me away is the Sunday afternoon regional broadcast schedule. I get the Ravens and Redskins virtually every week, and if not them, other AFC North or NFC East teams. I don't care enough about those teams to tune in regularly and don't have a strong enough rooting interest in any team to make me religiously follow the league like I did 20 years ago.

When I was still playing fantasy football, none of that mattered. If one of my players was on TV, I was watching.

Yes. I think the primary reasons can all be attirbuted to the Commish.

CFB is unwatchable. 19 year old amateurs make too many mistakes. Also, there is a reason the spreads are often 20+. Teams are just so far apart talent-wise. Nobody wants to watch LSU dominate Mizzou. There are 2 or 3 games a week that will be worth watching.

I watch more and more NBA.

The Raiders are good for the first time in over a decade.

No.

ETA2: And they need to stop changing the rules every season. I'm kind of enjoying watching the touchback rule change backfire. For those that aren't aware, touchbacks go out to the 25 now. NFL thought this would encourage more players taking a knee in the end zone. However, Special Teams coordinators are kicking it short and forcing returns because they don't want to give up those 5 yards.

If they want to deter kick returns, they need to amend the rule. Retirn team downs it in the end zone = ball on 25. Kicking team downs it in the end zone or kicks out the back = ball on 20. That way kicking teams will try to boom it (or sky it and try to pin the other team back) and receiving teams will down it when they can.

LSU fans do. If you're a big CFB fan, you're going to enjoy watching your team each week.

Complete bullshite.

Most Thursday night CFB games are more exciting and interesting than 80% of regular season NFL games.

I know here are tons of shite QBs in college, but the NFL isn't all that great either. I actually confuse myself just thinking about this. On one hand, I complain about how it's too easy to pass and the rules favor it. But hell, half these QBs still suck arse with damn near everything in their favor.

Yes it's diminished but that's 100% related to the Saints sharp decline in recent years.

Not at all. I've been slightly discouraged by the Saints being down lately, but I couldn't be more interested in watching the sport right now.

I have found myself less and less interested in CFB over the last 4-5 years. I think a good chunk of that has been Les Miles football, but even other games I'm really not that into it. It just really strikes me personally how unbalanced the sport is... The entire system is constantly tipped in the favor of traditional superpowers. They have the most money, so they can buy the best facilities and coaching staff, which leads to them getting better recruits... So schools that do not have those things are at a major disadvantage. The only way you can ever advance and beat good teams is to have a coach who is a gem and can beat teams that are vastly superior in talent. WTF kind of system is that?

It's easy to not think thats a big deal when you are a fan of a team that has those advantages like most of us are with LSU.. we do not have the "come up" problems because we are already there.. But for me it diminishes the overall product a lot. That doesn't even include all of the other BS issues like: schools making their own schedules (creampuff games), ridiculous NCAA rules, or that feeling of "well, season is over.." after a week 1 loss...

I mean, it's mind blowing at times. Thinking about UF at times having a truly elite defense and then the QB play they get...just, damn

NFL QBs come from college, though. <------ I know I know, I'm a goddamn genius. So, the QB play is there, but it's mixed in with some shite.

I don't get people using Southern Middle Texas State vs Rhode Island as proof that college sucks. Just uh, don't watch those games.

shite, what about RB's? You're the University of Freaking Florida. Florida, where you have so many 4 and 5-star running backs you probably can't even walk to your mailbox without tripping over one. And their RB play hasn't been really noteworthy for a WHILE.

Yeah, but it's really the level of competition on the defensive side of the ball in the NFL that really brings out the top QB play.

But not surprised to see saints fans tired of it. I couldn't watch that Defense anymore either

Really nothing to do with that.

2012 seem to be the year in which every headline was heavily tabloid magazine like.

Like the league when all TMZ.

Ever since the saints have started sucking arse again, that's the only reason.
